We had heard about the winery as we were entering the Hunter Valley and it is a part of the Roche Estate within the Hunter. As we walked in, we signed in and made sure we adhered to covid restrictions and social distancing. As we were seated, we met the wonderful Kris who wiped down the surfaces to ensure it was sanitised. As soon as we sat down, she provided us a full list of the wines and beverages available and asked what we had preferred. Once given our preferences, Kris arranged for us to try 5 different drinks, consisting on what we preferred.
We immediately bought a bottle of Moscato after trying it, after this experience, she had my partner try and dessert wine which he loved and we both enjoyed the Dolce Rosa! Throughout the experience, she was full of information and knowledge about the area as well as the beverages she was giving. She even made me try a wine I would usually stray away from and I'm glad that she did! Afterwards, she gave us recommendations for different places worthwhile to visit while in the Hunter Region and when she didn't know, she was quick to ask someone else to get the correct information for us.
The overall time we spent here was filled with information, tasting and laughter, which was nice as wine tasting can sometimes be daunting if you haven't been before, but this was comfortable for us and started our trip off on a good note. I highly recommend this place for modern and traditional aesthetic, wonderful service and staff and overall affordability and experience. Well done Tempus Two, you were amazing and thank you Kris,...
Read moreTitle: Disappointing Experience at Tempus Two
I recently visited Tempus Two with high expectations, eager to enjoy their renowned wines and a pleasant afternoon with friends. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a lack of attentive service, particularly from Sammy and three other staff members who seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to guests. It was really like Sammy didn’t want to be at work or service our group
Upon arrival, we were informed that all tables were booked, despite the fact that many remained unoccupied throughout our visit. This was particularly frustrating as we had a guest with us who has mental health challenges and a disability, and a comfortable seating arrangement would have made a significant difference in their experience.
We proceeded with our wine tasting, which, to their credit, featured some excellent selections. However, the enjoyment was overshadowed by the lack of service. Despite the tasting area not being overly busy, the staff seemed disengaged and inattentive. Our attempts to get their attention were often met with delays or dismissive responses.
It's disappointing to see such a reputable establishment fall short in customer service. While the wines were delightful, the overall experience was tainted by the lack of care and attention from the staff. I hope Tempus Two takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their service, as the potential for a fantastic experience is undoubtedly there. Until then, I might think twice before returning or recommending...
Read moreTempus Two is quite easy to find, nestled in a building next to a couple of restaurants and two other wine brands. Tempus Two is part of Australian Vintage Limited, which also controls McGuigan and Nepenethe. This is therefore definitely not a niche-y, wine insider gig.
Wine tasting is only AUD 5 per person, which is good value for a bit of fun as Tempus Two have so many product lines. This is a good starter destination for those who don't yet know much about wine.
We were 'assigned' a really fun server - made sure to get her name as she deserves a positive review. Other reviewers here have already mentioned her, Caitlyn is a great people person and it wouldn't matter if she was selling air purifiers or alcohol, her energy and ability to pick up product knowledge will take her far. We really enjoyed her presentation of the different products - which range from sparkling wine, whites, reds, dessert wines and 'ice cream liqueurs'. They even have non-alcoholic options, and yes, we took a bottle home.
There was one solitary (white) person serving at the counter when we arrived. I did not get the chance to pick out his name - unfortunately, within five minutes of speaking with our group, he excused himself without a reason and handed over to Caitlyn while he served a group of Caucasians who arrived later. What a shame, they missed out on the chance to interact with Caitlyn. Constructive feedback, next time - please hand over in a way that does not make customers feel like we are being matched to your servers by...
