Nestled in the picturesque Hunter Valley, the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory & Tasting Rooms Co PL is a delightful destination for cheese enthusiasts. My recent visit left me with a range of sensations and thoughts, particularly about the extensive selection and price point of the offerings.
Upon arrival, the atmosphere was inviting, with rustic decor that perfectly complements the surrounding vineyards. The friendly staff greeted us warmly, ready to guide us through an extensive tasting session. What stood out the most was the impressive variety of cheeses available. From creamy bries to sharp cheddars, every palate is catered for. The tasting experience itself was engaging, as we were introduced to exquisite flavors, all expertly paired with complementary accompaniments like artisan crackers, fruits, and jams.
The highlight of the tasting was the opportunity to sample some truly unique cheeses that you won't find in typical supermarkets. Each cheese had its own story, with many made from local, sustainable ingredients that celebrate the region's agricultural heritage. It was evident that a lot of care and passion goes into crafting these exceptional products.
However, while the tasting experience was top-notch, I found the prices a bit on the higher side. While I understand that quality often comes at a premium, the cost might be a consideration for those looking to indulge frequently or for larger gatherings. The selection is undeniably excellent.
In conclusion, the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory & Tasting Rooms Co PL offers an unparalleled cheese tasting experience that is both enjoyable and memorable. The selection is impressive and beautifully presented, making it a must-visit for cheese lovers in the...
Read moreTruly disappointing. I came in with all my best will to taste artissanal cheeses (rather unususal in Australia from the normal supermarket stuff) that I have truly missed for few months. The entire idea of having a tasting is to get hooked by the brand by giving a reasonably well priced degustation to see and taste their best creations. Despite I was assisted before the tasting by a rather well informed lady that told me all about their cheeses who got my expectations up the display of cheese was not only minimalistic (we paid for 2, my wife and myself) but also an insult by putting milimetric cheese slide (yes! Singular) but also receiving scraps of crackers that I would have been embarrassed to serve even at home for my family. The cheeses or cheese micro bite were not bad but only o'right with only2 worth: The brie and the smoked. Unfortunately, even we paid for 2 (AUD 15 X2= 30 aud) only one of us had a chance to try. I wish I could post a photo of the tray we got to show what a joke this was. Anyhow, when we kindly and very politically expressed that our will to try was guzumped by the minimalistic micrometric pieces towere given a cold feet as if nothing of our message was received. Even we would have bought definitely at least 2 types to take home we were shocked by the poorly uninterested style of the lady attending the tables who paid no attention to our clearly delivered message. We promised ourselves never to come back to this fake tasting. I let to other reviewers to also get their say on the matter. For us...
Read moreVisited this “cheese factory” with our two young children as a part of a mid week Hunter Valley vacation.
The old boiler working the shop floor put the hard sell on us trying to convince us how good their cheese was. Our 12 yo daughter loves cheese and dearly wanted a Brie wheel to bring home. Asking the women if she could try a small piece to see if she liked it, from a wheel that was already opened for people to try, we were told a resounding NO, she had to buy a full cheese tasting - a 12 your old!
Needless to say we put the cheese back and walked out, never to return.
I am a business owner and I can tell you this business is the worst we saw in the Valley and in recent times anywhere in NSW. Even nearby vineyards were more than happy to sample their finest wine at no cost and made a meaningful sale as a result.
We travelled 5 mins down the road to Hunter Belle Dairy Co where we found friendly staff, clean and modern cafe and shop with outstanding service, 3 free small Brie samples, and we walked out with a bag of cheese, including their unique black magic black garlic double cream Brie cheese.
Unfortunately Hunter Valley Cheese was in our experience, a waste of time, and comparably overpriced with a shop mostly of other goods readily available in supermarkets. Much better legitimate local...
