I visited this place while in July while on holidays with my family. We were staying at the Rydges hotel around the corner and decided to stop at this cafe for some food. The place wasn’t even that busy at the time (8 am on Sunday) and our food (bacon and egg rolls) took 30 mins to be prepared. I kept thinking it was taking long as there was probably a kitchen at the back. To our surprise, one of the employers started preparing our eggs and bacon in the sandwich press next to the counter which was fine but then she prepared our meals with bare hands!! No gloves or mask!!. Even my kids started pointing at her saying “look mum she is not wearing gloves, yucky!”. My husband and I were horrified as this is a basic hygiene requirement for any place preparing food. She had long nails and her hair wasn’t even tied back. We didn’t complain not to make a scene. Read moreI'm all for supporting local biz..I'm born and breed in #PMAC ..I'm so aware of Local Biz putting prices up through holiday time.. However I do not appreciate a sneaky coffee shop hiking prices up.. No sign in Window or Counter saying there was near a $1 ssir charge on a $6,50 coffee to $7.15 than rounded up to $8 and gave me $12 change from a $20 note, he pushed the card machine toward me, now I know he was hoping I paid by card..CASH BUDDY CASH!!when I queried price Man was just rude.. It was about 5:30am he was just hoping I didn't notice it wasnt the money issue.. He was just god dam rude.. I got a much nicer #PeakCoffee anyway.. And guess what I'm here when holiday makers go home.. And now I'm going to leave a thumbs down in FB #PortMacquarie FB Group.. Why own a coffee shop if you don't want to work...

I'm serious - they use their own sauce, and it's got a subtle zing to it that develops as I you stuff this good sized burger into your mouth. They even give you a serated knife to cut it in half, so you can eat it sensibly.(Casualties is on the site of the old ambulance station, so don't be scared by the name...) Breakfast cost $19.50, which is very reasonable considering the amount of food, the quick and friendly service, and the large cup of coffee. The seats (metal stools) are comfy, and the cafe is in town and close to everything. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo before breakfast was consimed.....
