Excited to see a new Cafe in town and to give it a go, the strong instagram presence on open was an encouraging sign. Takeaway: got a long black (small) and received a large, if I didn't know what good coffee tasted like, that would have been a nice move, but it was a large bad coffee. Didn't finish it. Fit out: gorgeous front counter, flooring, coffee machine and set up is nice, feels like it could do with some art or more plants to finish it off. Looks like the outdoor seating is dog friendly too 😊 Food: my friend and I got the muesli and the waffles (both vegan which is a massive plus) - both were tasty and finished off - good food but nothing I'd have dreams about later. Sit in coffees: (Soy FW and LB) Well below par for Port Mac and neither of us were stoked (see photos). The coffee scene here over the past 10 years has boomed- with Four and S3 across the road, and Bandwagon a block behind, Frankies needs to up their game big time. Wouldn't come back for the coffee at all. DONE beans (Doppio or Nothing) don't taste that great, subbing for specialty coffee beans or a Single Origin might save the reputation and I'd totally give it another go. The barista skills also could have been better (soy was not textured great and LB had the shot pulled pre-water) but just a matter of more training or practise. Service: The young legends working front of house were absolutely lovely, and although it feels like they're still finding their groove they were doing very well!

Port Macquarie has a vast choice for cafes but you will not find any better than Frankie’s on the corner of Clarence and Murray Street. Customer service is excellent, You will be greeted at the front of house by one of the many friends faces but Ash will get you seated and ordered taken asap. I’m local of 20+ years and chose to get my coffee here every other day, made skilful by barista head Baya. The coffee here is bang on and even better is consistently, it’s excellent. When family or friends are in town, I choose to come here with them as the menu is extensive and amazing. Trent who’s the owner of Frankie’s will make sure your breakfast/lunch will be as ordered and delicious. I bet you’ll come back!!

my experience was absolutely ridiculous and a waste of my time. I ordered an iced coffee and specifically asked for icecream. I got no icecream and the coffee was not freshly brewed and was sitting in a big blue tub that had been watered down to the point i could not taste any coffee in my drink. The young boy was about 10years old who made the drink and it was disgusting it was watered down. When we went back for more icecream the lady was rude and just rushed us and rolled her eyes. The coffee also had grind coffee beans still in the drink as it wasn’t properly or freshly brewed absolutely horrible terrible

Would NOT visit again and neither should you! APPALLING service. 1 team member seated us, 5 mins later they seated another table beside us. A 2nd team member took the other tables order before ours (we had to grab her attention to serve us as she turned to walk away from the other table). We tried to order eggs benedict but were told they were "out of eggs benedict" which seemed strange but we decided to stay and ordered croissants instead. When our drinks arrived the iced coffee had so little coffee in it that it tasted like a vanilla milkshake and the iced decaf oat latte had been made with full cream milk (lactose intolerance is not a choice). Again it took another 5 mins to get the attention of a 3rd staff member to confirm the problem with the drinks. She said very condescendingly that, if we wanted the iced coffee to taste like coffee we should have ordered an iced latte because "it has icecream in it so of course it tastes like vanilla". She apologised with little care and told us that she would have the decaf oat latte remade correctly straight away... our croissants arrived and the corrected drink arrived "straight away" near on 10 minutes later (once our food was eaten and plates cleared). Step up your...

A friend & myself had brunch at Frankie’s today, & were deeply disappointed. I’ve personally been to this venue a number of times & it’s always been fantastic. Today, not so much, I ordered the spicy pork Baguette with no Coleslaw, after 10 minutes my friends Korean fried chicken burger arrived, & I expected mine to be next. No. I waited 30 minutes after my friend had received hers, & I spoke to one of the waitresses & was told that a new chef is in training. After that almost 40 minute wait, my friend had finished her meal, & mine arrived, The Baguette was dripping with oils & juices, the bottom of the bun was sloppy & falling apart as I tried to pick it up & the chips were plain & salt-less. While all this, however, the waitresses were fantastic as always, I just wish the food could have lived up to...
