Walking to I Roll, the ice cream store was easy to get to from the ferry terminal. Getting close to I roll, the store is labeled as I roll, decorate with glamorous pictures of rolled ice cream. Walking inside I Roll you are welcomed, the cold plate used to roll the ice cream is positioned at the entrance. Taking our seat my senses were meet with confusion. I could smell a strong scent of spices and herbs. Looking down at the menu I grabbed they were selling Dosa, turns out this is a dual eatery I Roll is also known as Dosa Express (Vegetarian/ Vegan) Indian Restaurant. Swapping the menu for the I Roll menu they had a wide selection from chocolate, fruits, biscuits to Indian flavors to choose from. My friend got the Ferrero roll. She enjoyed the flavor and the nutty texture, topped with chocolate sauce. On the menu instore they offer a Kiwi roll. They don't do this flavor anymore. Choose the Mango roll instead. The Mango flavor was very plain couldn't really taste the Mango flavour, the sauce on top gave it flavor. Would have liked it if they put the sauce on each tier of the rools. Read moreVery average customer service. The process of watching the icecream getting made was interesting but unfortunately we found it all to be quite bland. No timely manner either as too busy leisurely chatting, she could only make 1 persons order at a time. Certainly not the same experience people have boasted about on their own reviews, overrated I'd say. Cold Rock is better. The shop has a strong smell of Indian food or something else as soon as u walk in, it's not just an icecream shop. Atmosphere is something to be desired, sticky table & icecream was served on takeaway tray/dishes with bamboo takeaway cutlery, yuk!! The menu picture displays 6 rolls of icecream, we only received 5 rolls each. No...
Read moreRude staff, we felt like a burden wanting to buy an ice cream.
We saw this place as we were heading back from the Zoo at 12:15 today.
We went in and asked if their ice cream is available. The staff at the till said “yes it’s available just have a look at the menu”. We then tried to place an order and were told to have a seat without being asked to pay. We didn’t want to dine in, so we asked for a take away, only to be rudely told to just have a seat and wait 5 minutes.
Since we have a tired toddler we decided to leave.
They could’ve just said they’re still getting ready, or perhaps should’ve been ready if their opening hours is midday, unfortunately we won’t be giving this...
