We enjoyed our lunch at The Station today. We started with some coffee which was pretty good quality relative to most pubs. I read they are opening for breakfast in early 2024 so good coffee is good starting point. For lunch we got a Katsu sandwich and a Reuben sandwich and my son got the Diavola pizza, we also got a high ball and a spritz cocktail. Everything was pretty tasty, perhaps the katsu could have been bigger and had a lot more Tonkatsu taste because I couldn't taste it and I would have preferred the normal fresh bread instead of toasted. The Reuben was great with a generous serving of corned beef, the rye bread wasn't too strong a rye flavour. Pickles were tasty. Potato chips were OK, perhaps a bit oily and under salted. My son enjoyed his pizza. Both cocktails were good. For dessert everything was good. Panna cotta was perfect, it was quite small but I wasn't keen for a big serving and it tasted great and presentation was great. The torte was equally good and my son loved the sundae. The people looking after our table were excellent 6 out 5. Couldn't fault them. The police station was nicely transformed and tastefully done and the atmosphere was good. The main issue is parking. Out the front it is 1P and street parking nearby is 2P so our only option was paid parking near the drive through bottle-o on Mill Point.

So this is another new pub by the Nokturnl group. You'll be pleasantly surprised to see its pretty much the same as all the other venues. Let's start with the pros: Friendly staff, It really changes everything when you have staff that are chatty and nice, it's how all venues should be, but I'm finding it rare these days. Cheers, Lots of spots to sit in, and lots of different areas. This seems to be what Nokturnl do best. Cons: Let's start with the lack of shade first, Why are new places failing at this? Yeah it's got some trees with no leaves, but in our current climate it gets hot. Beer list is sub par, All their venues suck at this, so I wasnt shocked, but I still want to see more WA produced products on the menu. We only had finger food here as the menu wasn't amazing for vegetarians, Chips were way overcooked, which is funny as other reviews said they were undercooked. Looks like they went too hard the other way and now borderline burn the things to a crisp. It's a cool venue, don't get me wrong. But I'm not rushing back. Also the elephant photo outside the toilets is an interesting choice, I get its a nod to the zoo, but zoos remind me of animals in captivity, which isn't fun.

Only getting 3 stars from me because the chips with my steak sandwich were dead cold, had to send them back with the steak sandwich plus the chicken Caesar salad came out as the other people on our table finished our meals. The steak sandwich is the litmus test of the kitchen in my opinion and this one was average. The chicken Caesar was also average with not a lot of chicken in a reasonably small bowl. The large lemon lime and bitters was literally filled to the top with ice meaning not a lot of liquid which happened both times until I mentioned it to the bar staff on the third occasion. I understand there will be teething issues in the first few weeks and yes, we did go on a very busy Friday 22nd December so this is just feedback for improvement. Yes we will come back in the new year for another try and I’m sure it will be better. On a positive note, the atmosphere and fit out of both upstairs and downstairs is incredible and you can see where the money went. Thankyou for taking a punt on a heritage listed building and providing another venue in the south side.

I was genuinely excited when The Station opened, anticipating a premium dining experience in South Perth. Having lived in this beautiful area for over 25 years, I saw it as a great addition to the community. However, the reality has not aligned with expectations.

Music frequently extends past reasonable hours or plays unpredictably at random times, often at intense volumes with different sound levels. This creates a sudden, jarring shock to the nervous system, making it impossible to relax, as you never know when the next burst of "doof doof" will hit. For anyone trying to unwind or sleep, this type of erratic noise exposure is not just frustrating but detrimental to well-being.

This is further exacerbated by loud shouting and disruptive behaviour from patrons. Over the past six months, I have consistently raised concerns about escalating noise levels, warning that if left unaddressed, the situation would worsen. Unfortunately, this past weekend, that is exactly what happened—aggressive yelling, swearing, and a loud altercation in the alfresco area turned the space into something more reminiscent of a rowdy fight pub than a high-end dining venue.

I observed and recorded the incident (in their alfresco area), and it was truly concerning.

The most frustrating part is that this situation could have been prevented. The concerns were raised early (6 months of reporting), with a clear indication of where things were heading, yet no proactive measures were taken to foster a well-managed and respectful atmosphere. Instead, feedback has been ignored, dismissed, or delayed, and a narrative has been created to justify the inaction rather than addressing the core issues.

Unauthorised Decorative Lighting – Bright decorative lights have been installed without approval from the local council residents. These lights shine directly into apartments from 6 AM until late at night, significantly impacting our ability to enjoy our home. Despite raising concerns, the response has been excuses and delays. This has now persisted for over three months,

Unmonitored Behaviour – Late-night gatherings frequently involve raised voices, shouting matches, and disruptive behaviour, including patrons deliberately making noise for social media content while waiting for their Uber. There is no staff managing this or security.

For those seeking a quiet, high-quality dining experience, this may not be the best choice.

Businesses play a crucial role in maintaining a balanced and respectful environment, and it is reasonable to expect that community concerns be acknowledged and addressed in a timely and professional manner. Unfortunately, this remains an ongoing challenge here.

I truly put in the effort to work with them, but it shouldn’t have to be this difficult. Collaboration and respect should be the foundation of any community.

As a proud Western Australian and a farmer’s daughter from down south, I was raised with the values of community, integrity, and looking out for one another. In the regions, we understand that strong communities are built on trust, accountability, and shared responsibility—not avoidance and indifference.

Western Australia is known for its incredible landscapes, hard-working people, and the strong sense of community that binds us together. That’s the standard I hold myself to, and the one I believe in fostering. Unfortunately, that same spirit of respect and cooperation hasn’t been reflected here.

After being away for 3months overseas I couldn't wait to get back to my favourite places this being one of them. Went to front bar lovely young lady served us we ordered a snack and two drinks. I said to my partner I'll just go to the toilet on the way back up from the toilet my partner said the young lady said we should check out the restaurant down stairs (we have eaten there before) because there was entertainment on. I said are you sure we can eat our food down there doesn't seem correct. Thought we would ask as the whole place was empty anyway. We approached the bar lovely young lady asked if we were ok. We had our drinks in hand and a table number and we asked if it was ok to sit and listen to the entertainment. She politely said she would get the host. Host came out and was very quick to ask who had sent us down and why would we think that this could possibly be ok !! As they don't serve PUB food in that area ...

We apologised went back upstairs ate our food drank our drinks and then went back downstairs as we wanted to listen to the entertainment. We went to the bar in the restaurant once again the lovely young lady greeted us we asked if we could order some cocktails and listen to the entertainment. She said she would get the Host the host didn't come out she just told the young lady to tell us we couldn't enter the restaurant area unless we ordered Food !

Oh my gosh wow buy this time we said thank you and left the building. To be honest if they had of sat us down we probably would have ordered something else to eat but being so rude and quick to not want us there honestly no wonder the place was empty ( made me sad ) to think such rudeness can impact someone's business and the way people think when they think about where they want to dine next time . I definitely will return as some staff are amazing and the food...

Where does one begin. Came in just after 11 and was told the breakfast kitchen shuts at 11.30 but can’t order lunch until 12 - absolutely all good, we ordered some coffees and juice. Got told by another staff member that we can order lunch from 11.30. Again all good. Tried to do order at the outside bar and rudely got told ‘no you have to wait until 12’. So already there’s some poor miscommunication between staff. So we are waiting and probably around 11.45 we suddenly see lunch menu items being placed down on other peoples tables and we all thought well which is it? Clearly these people were able to order off the lunch menu so why weren’t we??? Finally gets to 12 and we slowly order lunch. Now I’m not sure how else to describe this but the food today was some of the worst food I have ever eaten out. The prawn roll for $29 was a disgrace. Wilted lettuce, tasteless sauce, under seasoned prawns and the stingiest amount as well. The only good thing was the fact it was a brioche roll which I highly doubt was made in house. The pork cutlet was disgusting. Overcooked on one half, and borderline on the other half. No seasoning/flavour in the crumb or the meat whatsoever. The mushroom sauce was by an absolute miracle somehow watery yet far too bitter in its taste - disgusting. The red cabbage was basic and sad but it was pickled so I give that a 1/5. Had to add so much salt and pepper to a tasteless dish that should’ve had flavour. I’m not even going to comment on what else we ate because absolutely everything was so so bad. I’m honestly shocked that this establishment is from the same people that run the Beaufort. Absolutely will not ever return. What a...
