Mindeerup — Attraction in South Perth

Beautiful area for strolling, outing, or picnic. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. Nice open park and playground. Great location by the Swan River. Best spot capturing Perth city in the picture, especially at night. Always a popular spot for catch-up or gathering.

Narrow roads for cars. Always exercise caution when driving.

Can be hard to find parking. Public transport (bus and ferry available) are the best transportation. Fantastic path trails (for pedestrians and bikes) that will take you to the other side of the river...

We were in the area since we stopped by Gelare for an afternoon sugar pick me up. We ended dup walking around the foreshore area as well since the giant animal like shelter caught my eye. There are a few of these interesting animal statues scattered around the area. The frilled neck lizard is also visible from the other side of the river and fairly easy to spot. It is well worth the visit to to try and spot these things. There is also a nice grassy area nearby to relax on as well as a small playground. It also has nice views...

Now officially named Mindeerup Piazza. Inviting riverside space with heaps of seating, a great view of the city, and various sized sculptures of animals. Will no doubt be a popular meeting place, selfie location, and a great spot to enjoy a lunch or coffee break. A very nice gateway to South Perth and the zoo from the ferry. Wish it had a little more shade for hot summer...
