So I have popped in for a brunch and the atmosphere is lovely and busy, but no wait to be served.
The price was over and above the prices on the menu. The dishonesty of the charge not matching was my first issue. I questioned it at the counter and got a shrug in response. I ordered pancakes and a hot chocolate with almond milk. I received a small hot chocolate, which was tasty, the pancakes came with a sauce bowl scoop of icecream. The size of one spoonful. The cost of one scoop of icecream was $3.50 exorbitant for the amount of icecream. I questioned that when I saw it with the waiter, who shrugged and just pointed to the cafe counter. Now they clearly have charged me for a large hot chocolate and the almond milk and the pancakes, but that cost still doesn't add up to what they charged me. There seems to be another additional charge on top that was not pointed out at all. I never add up my bill, but can estimate what I expect to pay withi the dollar. From my calculations, I should have paid for what I ordered, not what they want to serve and charge. This place is daylight robbery and the service people are either poorly trained, don't care,...
Read moreJust come away from here with a partial refund after a burnt breakfast. I ordered the corn fritters with a side of bacon and a small flat white. This came to $27.50. After over 30 mins waiting for it to arrive the fritters came out burnt, dry and with a side of hard salty bacon on the side. I managed a couple of mouthfuls before sending it back (something I VERY rarely do) and was quickly offered a replacement or refund. I chose the refund and went to get it from the counter. The thing is it was busy and I had my little 15 month old with me keen to leave so I was distracted when I confirmed the refund. Only after leaving and walking down the road did I think to check, and found that they have only refunded me $17.50, meaning I have paid $10 for a small coffee.
Not good enough and I won't be back. Other places to eat all around there so will try my luck with...
Read moreVisited for the first time on Sunday and at first it seemed like a lovely busy joint with a great menu. The drinks were lovely, the food was good and came out quickly but that's where the positives end. Safe to say some of the staff here should put their shocking attitudes and rude manners to use in a different industry. Service was poor, the counter server and table servers customer service was abysmal and their communication was sub par. God forbid you ask any questions or they stuff up your order, they'll just walk off ignoring you and return with sass, silence and even more attitude. I know the industry is rough and, the days are long and customers can run you off your feet etc. but kindness really does go a long way and if your staff can't be pleasent they have no place dealing with customers. Improve service standards and this would be a lovely spot...
