We shared 3 entrees, 2 mains and 4 sides:
Pumpkin croquette ⭐️ Potato pave w/ horseradish & kangaroo Kingfish crudo
Ossobuco Beef Gnocchi ⭐️ Fish Of The Day
Beetroot Feta & Mascarpone salad w/ tarragon emulsion & poppy seeds ⭐️ Caramelised Honey Soy Carrots w/ bone marrow butter & pepitas. Seasonal Veggies w/ Toasted macadamia, chili & garlic oil. Fries.
Each dish delivered really fantastic flavours. All were amazing but the standouts for me are highlighted. The pumpkin croquette was light but also really filling. We couldn’t work out how you can get such a light filling to remain in shape when fried. Delicious black sesame cream accompanied. Amazing flavours and a great start. The Potato pave had so so many layers you could taste the effort and the horseradish & tender cut kangaroo on top were perfect. The Kingfish crudo had a generous cut and a citrus jus. Also great.
For Mains, the Ossobuco Beef Gnocchi was my dish of the day. The softest Gnocchi and most flavoursome Ossobuco. This alone will bring me back again and again and when put along side the fabulous fish of the day. I’m now a fully fledged fan.
The sides … all really really good but the Beetroot salad was a notch above for me. Sweet, smooth and so so flavoursome. I could eat this everyday.
If you can’t tell, we loved this place. Beyond the food, the place is decorated in such a way to make you instantly relax. We were there for Sunday lunch which means we also got to enjoy live music. Read moreLoved the decor. Live controlled background music was very welcome. The young lady had a beautiful voice and we were able to carry on a conversation. Began our meal with a watermelon margarita. It was served in a highball glass which was interesting. The menu on their website is not the menu on offer. We tried the creamy fregola @ $34 and prawn & scampi tagliatelle @ $45. Three of us voted the mushroom fregola as the winner. Downside. We also ordered their Caesar salad. It was very small. The lettuce was chargrilled and quite frankly ruined the meal for the three of us. Two thirds returned to the kitchen. Shame they still didn’t have the broccolini on the menu. The cheesecake was also a fail. It was advertised as “charred” and it lived up to it. We cut the top off. Service sporadic. Rose was not left at the table so had to summons the waitress to replenish our glasses. Understandable if the restaurant was busy but there were only 15 of us in total. This is an honest review. The restaurant has been up and running for 6 months so shouldn’t need tweaking but it does at these prices. Will we be back? Most probably. Don’t let me put you off...
Read moreSo much potential, but unfortunately missed the mark. There were so many good things we wanted to like about the restaurant but unfortunately a few key things let them down. The entree were lovely, zucchini flowers and kingfish. The mains however were a letdown. The steak was okay but not worth the $55 and the pork belly was crying out for a sauce and also some sort of crackling. The staff also lacked knowledge about the menu and wireless unfortunately.
On a plus the atmosphere and decor was great, along with the cocktails. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. The portions were also generous.
Hoping they sort out some teething problems and raise the bar a little on the food for the price as we’d love to come back again. So...
