Its a nice space generally speaking with well appointed high back chairs, but if you have long legs or ones that don't conform to the cramped chair placement layout I can guarantee you'll be in pain by the end.
The theatre is still very modern with good sound acoustics depending on where you sit, my experience was totally fine however I will mention depending where the ticket places you if you're close to the side of the auditorium part of the stage is blocked from view just by its bad angles . Its just a shame its so horrible to be a patron in the auditorium due to the seating layout. Darling harbour theatre if you read this make an area where leg space exists for customers I'd go as far to say it's cruel and is truly unacceptable . 😡 (I'm about 5'10)
Like a couple of the reviews also talk about the transport options to get to the theatre are pretty bad you either take a bike or walk from the train stations town hall or central and that'll take 15-20min. Parking is typically expensive and not necessarily close to where the venue is.
Signage to find your way there is mediocre at best and staff will need to guide you to the auditorium once inside.
As the images suggest I saw the Hans Zimmer show and that was a 3/10 performance with poor audio and crackling that came through the speakers 3 forced encores that confused the audience. people left because they didn't know if it was over or not and then they played 2 songs on repeat for some reason and caused the performance to run longer that needed to. Singers were 'meh' aka disappointing. The Light engineer must of been having a nap during the event I had to wear sun glasses or dip my vision as blinding lights kept bathing the audiences eyes in...
Read moreGreat venue in the past. Don’t know who is in charge of events but never again show the music of The lord of the rings/hobbit/rings of power in concert again. Just saw this rubbish and I feel like I’ve just watched a pirated bootleg copy of a concert with a misunderstood dub overlay. The sound was shocking, first half of the show sounded pre recorded or it was coming out of the right side of the stage only. Second half was a bit more surround sound. And then the presenter’s mic cut off. 90-95% of the concert had unfamiliar tracks from the movies. Your events team only have to use Google to see how poorly received this concert is. I just wish I had before I bought tickets.
Honestly feel scammed by the ICC. Your website advertised close to 100 performers on stage. There were well under 50 performers. Think I counted 30 at one point. At the end there were about 40 on stage thanking everyone. False/misleading advertisement big time. Tried to make an enquiry about a refund (something I would never have dreamed of for a concert) but couldn’t get past the I am not a robot part on...
Read moreSoulless performance venue. Even the artists performing exclaim how drab it is while on stage. Poor signage to locate the venue inside the ICC, they rely on a multitude of staff standing on the footpath and inside the venue to direct you. Poor food/drink options when inside. The stage-to-audience gap is very shallow with a steep incline of seating. The angle of seating means you can see people walking in/out of side of stage. Sound quality is poor and the room acoustics are terrible. You can see everyone coming in/out of the venue as they illuminate the entrances to the sides and everyone's shadows loom large on the walls as they come in/out, very distracting when you're watching a show. Transport afterwards is always a nightmare, Uber gets choked up and Darling Harbour is always under construction so you face a dark and grim walk back to...
