I have been a frequent weekly shopper here for years. It has a good collection of retail outlets that have made it a great one-stop shopping experience covering all the essentials - supermarkets, meat, seafood, chicken, pharmacy, fruit market, fast food, etc. Unfortunately, the centre also has many negatives, such as frequent travelator and parking machine breakdowns, ridiculous parking rates and conditions where you must spend over $15 in one participating outlet to get the first hour free, but if you exceed this hour nothing is free, not to mention the new pay machines with overly sensitive and misaligned keyboards that makes it almost impossible to hit the right key when entering your number plate. Many of the smaller retail outlets don't last more than a year resulting in the centre nearly always having vacant shops. I am now devastated to learn that Adams Apple, the fruit market which has been there for over 10 years, is closing today. This is a huge loss for the centre and changes the entire dynamic of it and no longer makes it a complete shopping experience under one roof. I can't see that I'll be coming to the centre very much at all now that I need to go to Westfield for the fruit market as I may as well also do the rest of my shopping there (with no parking fees). Hoping that another fruit market opens soon and management can do something to improve the negatives that continue to plague...
Read moreNew parking system is horrible.Spent $45 dollars at malatang place and the printer didn’t print out the barcode properly. Stood at the validation machine for 10-15 minutes trying to scan it and went over the 1hr limit in the process. Tried calling the operator using the button in which it kept saying leave a recorded message. Once someone finally picked up the man was adamant that we went past 1hr and wouldn’t budge when we said we were trying to get out before it went past the time limit.
Ended up paying full price because the operator didn’t listen to us nor care about the situation. He simply said “your voucher is invalid now as you have been here over an hour” in a thick Indian accent and hung up only to move to the machine next to us as the lady at that machine was also having problems with her numberplate not showing up and receipt from coles not scanning.
This carpark used to be so much busier, and by the looks of the multiple bad reviews below we won’t be the only ones avoiding this carpark; I hope management can see the impact the new...
Read moreHurstville Central is definitely convenient, especially with its location right next to the train station, but that's about where the convenience ends. While it's great for a quick grocery run at Coles or a specific specialty store, the overall shopping experience is often a letdown. The centre feels cramped and can get incredibly crowded, especially on weekends. Navigating the aisles and walkways feels more like a frustrating obstacle course than a relaxed shopping trip. The car park is a major pain point; it's tight, difficult to find a spot, and the validation system is confusing and a hassle if you don't spend a specific amount at a single store. Beyond the major supermarkets, the variety of shops is pretty limited, and the food court is quite small with only a handful of generic options. It feels dated and lacks the modern, clean atmosphere you'd find at other nearby shopping centres. It's a place you go to out of necessity, not...
