It was awful, Me and my family were going out to watch the fireworks for NYE (new years eve) and so what happened is there was a huge tow we were stuck in , we found out that all the access roads were closed off given the reason "only residents allowed" we were disappointed because we were stuck for 1 hour and a half and more people had to turn into the intersection to find out that it was closed. We tried looking for other routes to get to the park yet all the roads were closed off all the way to the main street. Sadly we did not get to see the fireworks and had to deal with it and pack up and go home, not so ideal for tourists. I would recommend planning a place that has no congestion, because we had no idea what was coming. The worst thing that happened is when there was no upcoming signs saying that there is a road block it was truly disappointing, please get this issue fixed as soon as possible because I'm really not happy with what happened today, especially when it was a public road all people should be allowed to pass by , if it weren't for the road blockage I wouldn't of wrote this review, and it included a huge amount of traffic. For all the people there waiting I truly feel sorrow to you all. Here is photo's of a road block on Darling street using the...

Thornton Park

Thornton Park has stunning views of the harbour, city and  the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Barangaroo Reserve and Barangaroo plus Luna Park and blues Point ,The picnic tables and grass areas are a great place to relax. It has a beautiful rose garden as a feature piece making it popular for weddings! When I was there a cruise liner came from the white bay cruise terminal and passed by me going under Sydney Harbour Bridge to...

Family friendly area by the water, views of Barangaroo reserve and features a playgroup and accessible by wheelchair via lift. Toilets are...

A lovely fairly new playground at the balmain east wharf. It has beautiful views of the harbour bridge and water. There is plenty of grass area and seating to have a picnic with friends or family while the kids play. Lovely rose garden nearby also.
