I’ve been going to USA Nails since they were in Double Bay and followed them when they moved to Bellevue Hill — around seven years now. They’ve always had some of the best nail technicians in Sydney, and I’ve never had a bad experience until recently.
Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. I had two new technicians working on my hands and asked for short, almond-shaped, pointy nails — my usual style every 3–4 weeks. This time, they were left far too long. I didn’t say anything at the time but realised once I left that they were ridiculously long.
I called to apologise for not speaking up and asked politely if I could come back in to have them shortened, even offering to pay for the time. The lady I spoke to argued with me, insisting that “short nails can’t be pointy,” which is simply not true as I’ve had them done this way there for years. She became defensive, ended the call abruptly, and said a manager would call me back.
The manager did eventually call and told me that shortening them would “compromise the integrity of the nails,” saying they would lift quicker because the shellac bonds to the acrylic. I wasn’t convinced, so I checked with ChatGPT, which confirmed that was a load of rubbish — acrylic nails with shellac can absolutely be filed shorter safely if resealed properly. It seems clear they either didn’t want to squeeze me in, even though I had offered to pay.
I’m genuinely heartbroken, as I’ve loved and supported this salon for years, and their regular technicians have always been brilliant. Sadly, this experience has completely changed my view, and I’ll now have to find...
Read moreI have been a regular customer at USA Nails in Bellevue Hill for over a year and have generally been pleased with the service. However, my last couple of visits have been disappointing and well below the standard I had come to expect.
The technicians cut some of my nails too short while leaving others too long, resulting in a completely uneven look. When filing, they also apply more pressure on one side than the other, leaving my nails at a strange, slanted angle instead of the straight, square shape I requested.
Additionally, the nail polish was applied far from the cuticle, creating a noticeable gap that made my nails look like they had already grown out by a week. This not only looked unappealing but also shortened the time before I need to have them redone.
When I politely asked them to adjust the shape and size of my nails, they reacted unpleasantly, making the experience even more disappointing.
I urge USA Nails to review the quality of their service and improve their attention to detail and customer service, as this recent experience fell far short of...
Read moreWorst nail salon I've been to by far. Paid $60 for SNS only for four of my nails to crack down the middle after one week, two of them taking my own nail with it which was extremely painful. Went back in to the salon as soon as I could which happened to be as another one broke while un-packing the dishwasher. They claimed my nails were initially too weak for SNS (Absolutely not true), also claiming that I should have been told this by the technician before they did them, of course this was said prior to me informing them it was done at their own salon. They removed my nails and then made me pay for the removal despite it being their fault. NOT worth the pain, money and now living with half...
