Burwood Bed and Breakfast — Hotel in Sydney

I booked two nights accomodation through Wotif for a single room with private bathroom. Upon arrival I was told that the private bathroom wasn't available and it was an issue with Wotif that has been ongoing.||||The lady at reception was extremely friendly and helpful and put me in a private room with shared bathroom, and she refunded me the difference and apologised repeatedly for the issues booking through Wotif.||||The rooms were very basic, and I'm always paranoid about leaving my expensive photography equipment so when I noticed the window wouldn't lock and the door to my room had a dodgy lock that could be easily pushed open I was a little concerned about leaving it in my room, but I felt some comfort in the fact that the front entry is secure and monitored by CCTV, and in the end I didn't have any issues. I also found some hairs on my bed so I'm not sure of the cleanliness of the blankets, but I have experienced worse in India so I let it slide.||||The shared bathroom was very basic and also in need of an upgrade, and the seperate shared toilet was a funny experience as there is no handle on the inside of the door and I almost couldn't pull the door open!! Anybody could easily get stuck in there so be warned. When using it again I decided not to close the door fully, and was just lucky that nobody walked past and got a shock.||||The free breakfast was nice, there was cereal and option to have freshly cooked eggs and toast. There was also tea and coffee. I wouldn't call it a buffet breakfast by any means but it was suitable.||||The reasonable price was the reason for booking here, and despite the average condition of the place it is in a very good location. The RSL is only a couple minutes walk in one direction and Westfield Shopping Centre is a little further in the other direction but also an easy walk.||||If the accomodation was upgraded and rooms made more secure I would have given it a better rating, but currently it is pretty average. I would have given 1 or 2 stars but the lady at reception was just so lovely and friendly that I have given it the extra stars, she made it a much...

Im usually only ever use my trip advisor powers for good reviews , but this place needs a mention ...I recently had to travel to Burwood and this place was walking distance to everything and budget friendly.||I read the other horror stories about this bed and breakfast on here but there was no recent reviews so gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought it may have gotten better in the last few years ..I mean it's only a bed for a few nights what can go wrong right ? ||The place was full of very shady and suspicious looking people as soon as I got there , my room was absolutely filthy everything smelt funny and I don't even want to think about what the stains where on the bed and floor , the shower was mouldy and had no hot water so after a cold shower I decided to make myself a cuppa and found there was no kettle or coffee in the room either ( Maby the cockroaches took them ) ||There was a used syringe a previous guest had left in the wardrobe and found several more as I walked around the premises throughout the day this worried me because what if there was a family with a toddler staying in house .|| The following morning I went into town and baught some breakfast and a coffee back to my room and as soon as I walked through the gate a homeless looking Lady approached me asking for money and I was later that day approached by another shady looking guest asking me to give him a cigarette .||This place is an absolute nightmare and although it's in a convenient location I advise any families Especially families with small children please don't do it ..this place is not just uncomfortable it is...

SHOULD BE CONDEMNED AND KNOCKED DOWN ITS A HEALTH HAZARD WHAT A Awful place the Asian lady shes rude and UNHELPFUL WONT GIVE A EXTRA TOWEL OR TEA OR SUGAR NO EXTRA PILLOW AS THE PILLOWS ARE FLAT LIKE A PILLOWCASE. she's either the caretaker or MANAGER SHE'S ALWAYS THERE but she's very rude didn't give proper directions to the kitchen to use the microwave. And she walked over to us and made us feel like we were trespassing saying I have cameras everywhere. I Clearly said I can't find IT SHE JUST POINTED OVER THERE BUT WHERE OVER THERE. I GO OVER THERE AND GET ACCUSED OF TRESPASSING She wouldn't even let us use any cutlery or a bowl or plate and told me to go to the supermarket and buy my own. When they have them available. Don't go there go to Marco Polo in summer hill 5 min drive away. GO ANYWHERE ELSE IT'S A RIP OFF AND DIRTY AND RUDE CARETAKER. THE BED WAS LOP SIDED AND SQUEEZED WE COULD FEEL THE SPRINGS THE TINY TV IS SO HIGH ON THE CEILING YOU CAN'T HARDLY SEE IT. THE REMOTE DIDN'T WORK SHALSO TOLD ME TO BUY MY OWN BATTERIES FOR THE REMOTE SO I HAD TO STAND ON THE WOBBLY CHAIR TO CHANGE THE Chanel. It says foxfel only 3 crappy channels and the free to air has terrible reception so your stuck with 3 foxfel channels not even a movie Chanel available. THE CLEANER IS MORE HELPFUL THAN THE CARETAKER/MANAGER. YOUR NOT ALLOWED EXTRA TOWELS EXTRA SOAP NO EXTRA ANYTHING. WON'T GIVE EXTRA SUGAR OR COFFEE OR TEA. ASK THE CLEANER DONT ASK THE ASIAN LADY...
