2 major issues, otherwise a very reasonable room for a last minute NYE booking for $198. Check in was a breeze, the receptionist was out, but called the number on the door and she was summoned promptly. Very friendly and helpful Had all the amenities you'd expect, tv, wifi, kettle, toaster, fridge, ac, private shower and bathroom. (I only used the fridge, tv, bed, bathroom, shower). No in unit lockbox/safe. Fantastic location being a block away from the Burwood train station and shopping center. Bed was comfortable, though a little poorly made as I had accidentally picked up the bottom sheets without realizing and slept on the mattress protector. Didn't inspect the bed too closely. Nice sheets and fresh towels were provided. Though no soap and or body wash. Unfortunately 2 major issues were that for a ground floor street facing room the door was flimsy with a poor lock at best, and had no curtains save a thin veil that can easily be seen through at night or up close. Which made changing uncomfortable as people passed to access the carpark. I also found glass from a broken bottle in the shower by kicking it with my foot, no damage was done but could easily have been worse. The shower could also have done with a thorough scrub as there was a clear buildup of mould and soap scum. Met one of the long term residents on checkout, was very friendly and suggested calling and booking directly rather than online for a slightly better rate. Backed up other reviews too by saying the lodge is often used as a halfway house. Honestly can't complain for a last minute 1 night stay on NYE, but I would avoid room 2 if possible

Clean room with the noisiest sheets I have ever had. Paid AU120 for room shown in ad BUT received a pub room. Breakfast is a bag of cereal n milk in fridge. Had to look for someone to help with checkin. Shown tiny room with double bed n sink, nothing like the photos on site. Had to find toilets n shower room ourselves . People upstairs seamed to stay up all night with creaky floorboards. Exterior doors open all night. Checked out at 8.30 n couldn't find anyone to hand key to so left it in the room. NOT WHAT ADVERTISED. Great location.

This is the most horrific place I have ever stayed in my life. I was booked in for 2 weeks - lasted one night. It is a boarding house, rooms are not only small, but unclean, mould all over curtains and blinds has never been cleaned. Opened up my bath towel to shower the first morning, black mould all over the bath towel.

The owner of the property immediately threw away the bath towel and said "what do you expect for a 100+ year old building"

My response "what I expect the property to be clean, fresh linen, no mould or health risks"

With the Covid society we live in, shared kitchen facilities and cooking facilities should simply be a no go zone. The shared kitchen microwave has never been cleaned and the rotting corpse of food waste living in the shared fridge - the odour made me instantly sick.

The room had coffee satches and sugar satches, no complimentary milk provided. Definitely no complimentary breakfast which they rave about on the website.

The room had an outdoor sitting area directly outside my window, junkies smoking and talking outside my bedroom window all night.

I told my employer who had paid in advance for this property, that I woudl prefer to sleep in my work ute as at least I know that my work ute is clean.

Be warned before you even consider staying here, this would have to be the worst property I have ever stayed in my entire life.

Photos on website definitely appear to have been photo shopped, as on arrival to this property you will immediately see this is a poorly managed, poorly maintained, old dump.

I would not recommend this property to my...

Directly booked with the lodge and paid $414 for 3 people for 2 nights in the deluxe family suite accomodation including our 2 dogs. I was told the room would accommodate and be comfortable for us. On arrival I was so disappointed. The rooms were really small and it was a very tight squeeze for us and the dogs. On our first night the 3 of us and our dogs were quietly celebrating our daughters 21st in the bbq area. We didnt see any sign on the front gate not to shut it so we closed the front gate just incase one of our dogs got off their tied up lead. All of a sudden we were rudely interupted by one of the permanent lodgers that lives there who told us to keep the front gate open as he didnt want to walk the long way around to get into the back yard to smoke. He then sat down in the bbq area and lite up a ciggarette where we were eating. We quickly ate, packed up, took the streamers down and went back to the room very upset. Trying to sleep that night we found it so noisy with people coming and going all hours of the morning. The pull out couch my daughter slept on squeaked every time she rolled over. We all decided we couldnt bare one more night in this old decrepid run down rip off lodge, so we cut our losses and left the next day.

I recommend to look around, as there are much better, cleaner, cheaper and friendlier...
