Chateau Tanunda is truly a gem in the Barossa Valley. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you'll be greeted by the warm and friendly staff who go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable. Sharon not only provided us with a delightful tour but also treated us to a sample of their award-winning Shiraz, a true testament to their exceptional quality.

This winery is rightfully known as the Icon of the Barossa for its world-class wines that rival those of renowned regions like Napa and California. The picturesque setting of the winery itself is a sight to behold, making it a truly special experience for all visitors. Larry, our guide during the tasting, was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly personable, adding a personal touch to our visit.

The host's expertise and dedication to providing a memorable wine tasting experience truly set Chateau Tanunda apart. The diverse range of wines offered is not only of excellent quality but also offers great value. The historic building exudes character and charm, adding to the overall ambiance of the place.

I cannot recommend Chateau Tanunda highly enough. The beautiful grounds, informative tours, and tastings led by hosts like Ros make for an unforgettable experience. This is more than just a winery; it's a place where you can truly connect with the story behind each wine, making your visit both fulfilling and enriching. Don't miss out on this hidden gem in the Barossa...

Fulfilled my desire to taste Shiraz from not just Old Vines but Centenarian and even Ancestor (Vines from 1889 and older) at the fantastic session with Ian at Chateau Tanunda. From the get-go, he could tell that we were serious about learning about wines and he was very flexible and super generous; he kept coming forth with bottle after bottle, each time a step above until we reached the pinnacle, having the privilege to taste the1858 Field Blend, 2018 vintage.

We fell in love with the 2022 Single Vineyard Grenache which kept us company the next 2 nights at our accommodation. We couldn't decide between the 2021 50 year old and 100 year old vines 2020 Shiraz, and considering that we are holidaying from overseas with limited allocation allowed to bring back home, we still decided to bust our limit and bought them both! We plan to age them for the next 5 to 10 years, at least, hopefully we will wait!

The tasting was the last day of our time in Barossa and Ian's wonderful hosting ensured we finished off on a high note. But just when we thought it couldn't get better, we stumbled upon the 2 winemakers hanging around the fermentation tanks and barrels and they were so friendly and it was brilliant having them stick their arms into the barrels, grabbing bunches of grapes allowing us to sniff them. Another highlight of our time here.

Thanks team Chateau Tanunda, you're among the 3 Best experiences we had on our wine trip...

Worst treatment ever.I went with my family and the lady at the counter looked at us like we are from a different planet. Then she asked how many people for tasting?I replied 5 and she said go and have a look around first.I was thinking why she want us to have a look around and not serve us straightaway when i already mentioned that i have been here number of times.Anyways we were having a look around and her eyes followed us all the time.We were about to enter another area inside where there were no signs saying "Do not enter" and she yelled at us" don't go in there, come back.I had 2 kids with me and i was shocked to experience such type of behaviour.Anyways we came back to the counter and about to start tasting. She was about to pour first wine into our glasses but stopped and looked at my missis and said she is too young and can't do it.I said i have my daughter with me and shes 2 yrs old,so certainly shes not a minor.Lady started arguing and went in circles as she was looking for a reason to spoil our day.Anyways I got really upset and said alright we are not doing any tasting here and we went to another winery.Lady never said a single word or even try to sort out the issue. My day was spoiled anyways and i am not coming back.First time i felt like me and my family being racially...

Beautiful grounds but it pretty much stops there. Went to the cellar door on the 16th of April and was greeted by an older man who told us to walk around and read the signs/history before coming back to take a seat for tastings. We chose our tasting flight (around $20) and the man was very knowledgeable about the history and substance of the wines, however after just 1 or 2 tastings out of the flight we were passed onto a girl in her 20's (as the older man then served a couple doing a more expensive flight) that appeared to have very little knowledge or understanding when I asked questions about some of the wines. I left feeling very disappointed with a sour taste in my mouth that despite liking some of the wines, was not in a rush to buy any afterwards due to the brush off feeling we got. Please make sure ALL of your staff take the care and dedication to your wine like the older man does.

My fiancé and I visited this incredible vineyard on January 15th and had an unforgettable experience. Mark gave us a fantastic tour, explaining the unique characteristics of the wines and the rich history behind the vineyard. His personable approach made the experience even more special. We truly enjoyed exploring the vines. Although we faced some delays with Australia Post, Megan, the wine club manager, went out of her way to ensure the wines were shipped to our Sydney address right away. We’ve since gifted the wines to our family so they could enjoy the same amazing experience. We highly recommend this warm, welcoming vineyard to anyone traveling to the Barossa Valley. It was by far our favourite place during our visit! Again would like to share our appreciation to Megan and Mark for providing an amazing experience
