As a top recommendation on Trip Advisor, we booked ourselves for a dinner session tonight to say farewell to a wonderful trip in the Barossa.
On Arrival, we were notified that, due to availability, we would be required to be outside and there was a note on the counter stating bookings were to be placed outside. One of our guests has severe reactions to Mosquitoes bites; as a result, we were hesitant to agree to the proposed seating arrangement, but were advised it was the only availability.
While we were initially understanding of the situation, a number of customers arrived after us and were placed inside whilst we remained outside dealing with the cold and mosquitos.
Following being seated outside we were advised that should we get cold that we can request blankets for warmth.
After ordering our entree and mains, our entrees arrived at separate times. After finishing our first entree, one of the staff tried to clear them after which we queried about our other entree. We were advised by the waitress that it was forgotten and that she would sort it out now.
Between finishing our second entree, we queried on the ETA of our mains and were informed that they would have been called away once our entrees being finished. Given our second entree was forgotten, we were unsure when our mains were sent away but our sitting ended up being 2.5 hours for 2 entrees and 3 mains.
On arrival of our mains, one of the mains was cold and one was undercooked. The main that was undercooked was sent back to be cooked longer and whilst the rest of the table finished their meals, I was still awaiting on mine.
We were looking forward to tasting the dessert menu, but were concerned it would take a further hour to arrive and decided to end our dinner earlier then expected.
Overall this was an unsatisfying experience which was reciprocated by our surrounding tables who similarly had poor service and meal quality. Unless this experience was out of the ordinary, we would not recommend this restaurant to others...
Read moreI had booked this in February. We were there last week. I booked this restaurant because I have been there twice and the food is fantastic and the service was great. This time I was disappointed. The waitress we got had no clue! When we asked her questions about the menu, she said she had no idea, but did not go and as anyone. I would have thought she told have had a look at the meals she served, but apparently not . We ordered wine, it had a cork in it. She came to the table and said she did not know how to open it, took it back, then presided to pour a big glass, not waiting for us to taste it. When we stopped her, she seemed annoyed. The bottle was $160 so expensive. We ordered the food and specifically told her that one person was having an entree. We waited and waited but the entree never came and when we asked she said it was coming with the other meals. The person had also ordered a main. We told her to cxl the entree and just serve the mains as one of the meals would be ruined as they were both cooked meals and would get cold. She got really annoyed and sort of disappeared from serving us. The meals were served by another person and she tried to also serve the entree and was surprised when we said it had been cancelled. After finishing our meal we waited for quite some time before we could order dessert . I am sorry, but if you have a completely “green” person perhaps make sure they are supervised. As it was, the experience was somewhat ruined and it was my birthday which I had told them when I booked. The food was fantastic the service very bad. Sad, as I had such great experience the last...
