Extremely bad mannered ‘ guide’ with no people skills, shining a red light right in our faces so we couldn’t see where we were walking ,triggering an angry reaction. The Woman grabbed one of us with rough handling calling her sir and made her feel violated . We have had no guides in the past which I would suggest worked better . We are all extremely disappointed as we have supported the local community for 2 days with business .We will pass this onto facebook and Tassie travel group.

Stanley is blessed with awesome beaches that are safe for kids of all ages and warm water in the summer as it’s a shallow angle on the sand. Godfrey’s Beach is less windy than Tatlows but the afternoons can be windy. From here you can view the Little Penguins come ashore of a late evening which is always delightful. There are showers, bins, toilets, generous car parking and the beach is off leash

Seeing the penguins come in at dusk is probably one the best things you can do in tas, and totally free. Entry to viewing platform is kinda hard to find - it’s to the very right of the beach. Make sure you bring infrared pointers - I think most accommodation places sell them. They started coming in around 7pm in September
