Typical country pub in the Main St of Stanley except that it has been upgraded in all sorts of ways. They manage the overnight rental of a number of cottages in the town but also rent the pub rooms in the hotel itself, which is what we opted for. Our room was upstairs and fronted on to the balcony, which we could access via the two doors in our room. There were lounges out on the balcony. In typical country pub fashion the room is about as high to the ceiling as it is long, so things are compact but they work fine. The room has been renovated to modern standards and includes an en suite which, though quite small, has all that you need. The bed was comfortable and it was super quite during the night. We got a bit warm (in early Feb) but not unreasonably. We also ate in the bistro downstairs which was excellent, and the staff deserve some sort of medal for how they look after everyone. Very impressive, and the same wines were about 2/3 of what we paid in other more exclusive restaurants. The scallop pot pie was a winner. Only warning, if you have dicky knees, the rooms are upstairs and these old hotels (1830s I think) have very steep stairs (two flights) and small...

Our dining experience here on the both occasions we have been here were second to none. What a fabulous dining experience. The food was so scrumptious and delicious. The mini warm loaf of bread was so delicious along with the selection of butters. The presentation of the food was excellent. The service waiting staff were so attentive and friendly too. Well worth a visit.

What a beautiful place to stay at. The rooms were so beautiful decorated in keeping with this historical hotel. The bed was so comfortable and luxurious, the bathroom and shower were so beautifully decorated and the shower was fabulous. Walking out into the balcony overlooking the historical Main Street was so very special. There were even lovely comfy relaxing outdoor furniture (table & chairs) on the balcony.

A definite 5 star rating for both the accommodation and...

Fantastic value without compromising the standard

All I can say is WOW – This restaurant is a must when in Stanley. All credit to the chefs who turned out such amazing food. This restaurant has a fantastic menu with prices all around $30.00 – We had a seafood plate which was enough for 2 people ($38.00) and the 450gm T-Bone steak for under $30 and both were amazing. Our own Reef & Beef to share. You could see why it has won the national award for 'Best Bistro in Australia They have fresh Lobster on the menu, so we are thinking about having that for dinner tomorrow night (Again $36.00) and it is LOCAL. Trust me when I say this is an amazing restaurant – We were told we had to book for the night we were there and when we walked in we realised why – Every table was full Don’t forget to go onto their web page and print out your free...

I had a great stay at the Stanley Hotel near The Nut. The location is absolutely wonderful, with stunning views and easy access to all the highlights of Stanley. You really can’t miss the hotel—it stands out thanks to its distinctive color! The restaurant was a real highlight of my stay. The steaks were absolutely awesome—perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly across the board, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. My room was cosy, clean, and comfortable—just what you want after a day exploring the area. All in all, a top-notch place to stay with great food, welcoming service, and a charming setting. Highly recommended!
