If you ever find yourself blessed enough to arrive in the beautiful town of Stanley, make sure to treat yourself to a perfect evening here. Not only is the aesthetic of this bar perfect (hello steampunk realness), but you can be sure to find a perfect seat just about anywhere without feeling bored for a moment. If you are blessed enough to be seated in the outdoor area (please recognise your privilege first of all because what an honour), you can enjoy lounging on beautiful French antique love seats in front of a fireplace with what I can only describe as the most royal looking taxidermied deer bust watching over you - coming from a (somewhat lenient) vegan, this deer is the very reason taxidermy exists.
Thatâs just the visual side of this little paradise. The wine and spirits list is immaculately curated and do yourself a favour of letting the incredible (nay; brilliantly-whimsical) Michael, suggest your drink of choice for you. You will not be disappointed. Truly do yourself a favour and spend an evening here sipping wine and eating delicious pizza because you deserve it - and if you find yourself here, it would be a waste of an opportunity not to.
This bar exists to give you an experience you could only dream of, just as long as you open up your mind...
Read moreI too have to join the chorus of those who left here disappointed with the complete lack of anything resembling âhospitalityâ from the gentleman at front of house.
I note that his usual response is to claim how busy he is and brush the concerns aside. Itâs as though he thinks nobody ever visits other establishments they may be able to compare his with. We do, and we find your service wanting.
Creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere goes a very long way toward providing a good customer experience. It seems you care little for this. Complete indifference and arrogance more accurately sums up your responses to such criticism.
Your dismissive attitude ensured that not only will we not return, weâll strongly advise others to spend their money elsewhere as well.
Your reply below was as expected. We didnât expect you to stop and talk with us, despite it being far from busy. Just a polite and friendly greeting, friendly receival of order and a smile on leaving wouldâve been nice. But we got none of them. You werenât...

The staff member seems to be more interested in his moustache and choice of clothing than on customer service. It was apparent that locals are deserving of some effort, but even when I attempted to engage about the origins of this business, he showed such little interest in any form of dialogue.
My wife also noticed this, so wasn't just my imagination. It wasn't because we arrived at a busy time, or he was run off his feet with anything else, rather he seemed engrossed with some obscure reading open on his computer screen.
As a traveller you'll find much better customer service and value for money at the local hotel just across the road, so give your money to someone who will make you feel welcome.
Rude, apathetic, disinterested, and not worth the effort.
EDIT: The "sorry but not sorry" response from the business owner is typical of the other negative reviews...
