As a party of six we made a booking for 12.30. We entered into a beautifully presented cafe/restaurant and was seated by a lovely waitress. After that our experience turned sour. We were told the Asian salad was no longer available which was fine but when we went to order off the limited menu we were told the most expensive dish of fish and seafood etc wasn’t available which three of us were going to order. We told the waitress to come back and when we went to re order she then also told us that there was only two servings of mushroom balls left and one serving of another dish.We had our meals which I found the abalone and calamari very sub standard ( I have experienced very nice calamari and abalone before at our places for half the price) and enjoyed it much more. I then asked for an 80 degree temperature chai which my own son who trained as a barista and one of my friends a barista and a lot of other baristas have accommodated however the barista started giving a range of excuses so I passed. THE WORST WAS YET TO COME…. Upon paying the bill,I politely mentioned to the waitress that it was FRUSTRATING that so many items on the limited menu were unavailable right on lunch-time, with that the owner slouching over the bar said in a bullying threatening tone “ What did you say” then in the same tone “ what wasn’t available “ !!! When I began to inform him of the items he cut me off in his rude manner and started to justify the way he runs the kitchen…..I have grown up in the hospitality industry and generations before me …. Nothing excuses a kitchen running out of so many items at 12.30 even with fresh produce and the way the owner handled himself was disgusting. The owners wife had to step in “mentioning they all had a bad day” and to her credit ended the conversation and her partners rant! May I end saying that the waitresses were lovely and give credit where credit is due , the place was tastefully decorated. Small menus work perfectly to minimise wastage but a properly run kitchen should be able to plan more...

We went for breakfast which was good ,no trouble there, but that’s where it ended. We checked the web menu and breakfast was $19 but when I looked at the menu it was $21. I wasn’t worried about the $2 and ordered, unfortunately half way through the order the girl at the desk decided it was better to talk to her friend who walked in than talk to me. Ok, it happens. I casually mentioned the breakfast price to the lady I presume was the owner… where did you see that .. on your web site …. well $21 is the price she said. Maybe you should change the web site I said casually… huh she said. Ok we’ll move on and enjoy breakfast. Coffee was good , but 25 min later , still no breakfast. I walked past the open kitchen just to see if I could see what was happening. A guy I presume was also an owner peered out and said , you want something mate !! Just checking to see how my bacon and eggs are going I said. They’re coming , was the reply .. it has been 25 min I said…. you have a problem with that he said . I returned to my seat breakfast arrived and we ate and then left. We also had a breakfast just up the road which was much better and their staff were exceptionably friendly and it was first class. The food here was fine but our experience was very poor, hence the one star. Maybe we just...

I had the best breakfast meal ever. I have travelled all over Australia, but man, the meal I had was, in my opinion, perfect. Perfect views while you eat. And while you wait, you could browse their gift shop. The atmosphere is very friendly and family orientated. I would go back there for all my meals in a heartbeat. The service is prompt and with a smile. Anyone passing through Stanly, it is a must if you require a meal. You will not be disappointed.

For my breakfast, I had flatbread toast with poached eggs, bacon, mushroom, and avocado. The mushrooms were to die for. There was nothing left on my plate by the time I finished.

Then I found out the chef was great with wood. Go to the next room, and you will see what I mean.

If you are passing through Stanley, drop in at Marley's @ sticks and stones give your self a treat and have a meal there. It will be...

In the heart of Stanley, this charming cafe is a hidden gem that offers not only excellent coffee but also a unique shopping experience. The coffee here is simply wonderful, making it a perfect spot for coffee enthusiasts to relax and enjoy a flavorful cup. What sets this place apart is its adjoining shop filled with esoteric souvenirs and an incredible collection of art and stones. It's the kind of place where you can take your time exploring and even discover a small stone that feels just right for you—a meaningful keepsake to take home. With its cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and a treasure trove of unique items, this cafe is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable experience in Stanley. Hello from Perth

Had the most amazing experience at this beautiful cafe in Stanley Tasmania. We initially came in for breakfast, however we were tempted with their homemade scones, unfortunately, we were told that they had not made them as yet as they have had a busy morning but if we were not in a rush they would make them fresh for us! What a treat! Not only did we get the most delicious scones, jam and cream we were also made to feel a little bit special and spoilt! Absolutely deserves a 5 star rating, beautiful cafe, great gift shop attached and the list wonderful staff!

Marley’s ticked every box for us! The atmosphere and vibe is probably the most comfortable, chill but classy coastal ambience I’ve been in for a while…this place is the ultimate Stanley trademark! Authentically and fabulously delicious, friendly staff, a very generous and gracious owner and Marley is such a darling! We love the “special of the day” which is “cuddles with Marley” 🥰 They also have the best sourdough bread I have ever had in my life! What a fantastic place! #perfection
