The park offers a lovely view containing 2 lakes, a playground, theatre area, tennis courts, some seating, a nice open grass area for sports or picnics and a beautiful stairway walk up to some trees and nature by the lake. Some minor downsides are that there is a lot of litter in the lake, last time I visited there were bugs presumably termites on the seats and lastly there is only 6 seating areas and it's a very popular place. Overall regardless of its minor flaws it is a lovely atmosphere and a great place is to...

Beautiful park with large areas for children to play and ample benches for seating. The adjoining Kaluna Park is a more natural large island area bounded by the King River. It has some magnificent stands of old river red gums and other remnant vegetation which has now become rare. Many bird species can be found on the island. The only access is via a bridge which is only accessed from the end...

Merriwa Park is such a gorgeous, big park with red currant bushes scattered across its open lawns and stunning redgum trees! They say Merriwa means 'fertile flat land by the river’s bend' in an Aboriginal language. It’s got everything you need: tennis courts, a playground, toilets, plus BBQ spots and picnic tables. You can access Merriwa Park and Kaluna Park from Riley Street...

A nice park that's well kept and has plenty of bird wildlife in the small water area. BBQ facilities, picnic areas and plenty of open grassland within. There's toilets towards one side of the park too, and some connecting walking trails at one side of the park. Great for letting the dog run off some steam and having a small picnic.

Beautiful park with a mixture of lawn, bushland with short walks, tennis courts and a small music bowl. Lovely community feel. A green oasis. There seem to be birds singing in there all the time. Some interesting historical signs on the main road side of the park. Glad to have found this on my travels through Wangaratta.
