We came here for the tour. You'll need to book a time for a tour online, then you'll receive a confirmation by e-mail. You'll need to check in when you arrive at the events office (located to your right when you enter the building). They'll check your reservation and you'll have to pay for the tour (26€ per person). The tour takes about an hour and the guide is very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the castle/palace as well as the city of Salzburg. Yes it is in English. It was well worth the money to be able to go in, finally, after all these years when it was a private property and the public had no access to it like a tour, but now it's part of a hotel which is next door. It was a wonderful experience. Vielen dank, Suzie!

The overall hotel is full of character. The breakfast in the palace is quite an unique experience. That room is clean. I believe it doesn’t have any AC. But there are 2 fans which work very well for me. Also walkable to Hohen palace. Great location. Highly recommend for vacation or hiking.
