Visited this restaurant as part of the Mozart concert + dinner package on 16 May 2025 night. I’m disappointed in the restaurant and I really hope their management review this thoroughly.
Service: I do have to give thanks to two of the staffs that I met tonight - the male staff standing at the reception to assign me to my table, and the male waiter who served my table (I was seated alone) - he was extremely busy but he attended me very well.
Atmosphere: The views were great if you’re seated by the window. Dining during this session however felt extremely rushed and it was canteen batch preparation style. I saw another table who had their desserts served before their mains and it seems their main course was missed out.
Food: I had a VIP course menu which included: Bread with savory spread 3/10 - Cold hard bread, interesting spread White wine soup 5/10 - it was decent Braised veal with asparagus & gratin 2/10 - the veal was so tough, asparagus was overcooked so the gratin was the only decent item on this plate unfortunately Nockerl souffle dessert 7/10 - actually pretty good but they left it on the counter for awhile before serving it to me, the taste could have been 9/10 if it was warmer
Price: My Mozart concert + dinner was about €107 which included this dinner. However, I felt ripped off when they charged me for wine which was something they clearly told me it was free at the start when I was ordering.
When I was seated the waiter asked what drinks I would like. There were aperitifs, wine, water and coffee options. I asked which is free and included in my meal and he said everything so I could order it all. I went with a prosecco and water. When I ordered veal he recommended me to get a mini bottle of red wine - I said I can’t finish and he said just order it’s free, in which I agreed. And then he served me coffee at the end of the meal. Before I was leaving for the concert I checked with the waiter if I can just leave or do I have to sign any bill since it’s already paid for, and he apologized saying I have to pay for something. He came back saying his colleague made a mistake and put me with the wrong menu, and that I should not have free alcohol so now I have to pay.
I told him I double checked twice how can you charge me now? And he said he already WAIVED my prosecco, water and coffee apparently so I only have to pay for a tiny bottle of wine. “It’s only 21 euros” he said He then apologize again “on behalf of his colleague” and passed me the bill.
I was in a huge shock - I didnt even finish my wine I had about 2/3 left and I had to rush off for the concert but I really felt conned, I paid for it and left for the concert. It bothered me a lot during the concert and I wanted to come back to speak to the restaurant they were closed by the time I came out of the concert.
I don’t think it’s right that the restaurant charge me for a mistake they made, especially when I double check twice with the staff. It doesn’t matter what you tell me you waived for me - you should have absorbed the full cost if it’s your mistake. I wanted to return the untouched coffee and you still insist I have to pay the 21 euros and told me to just drink the coffee.
I know it might have been some miscommunication on the menu / table and it’s not 100% the fault of the waiters who served me, but why is this cost being passed on to your customers? Why does the restaurant not take accountability? The manager should have better managed this.
If you need to trace back which customer I am, check your POS and credit card machine - my credit card transaction date and time is 16th May 2025, 8:10PM, paid in...
Read moreI visited the restaurant as part of the dinner + concert package and would start by saying the concert itself is fantastic - superb setting, great music selection and performance. The dinner at the panorama restaurant was another matter (it was also somewhat disappointing that the dinner was in a different location from the concert and it was not 'dine while listening' as the advertisement somewhat misleadingly conveyed). The set menu was pretty subpar but worst of all was the service - our tall lanky waiter (unfortunately did not get his name or would definitely have reported him) was unbelievably rude: answered questions about the food with non-answers, impatient while waiting for our drink orders, and when we asked for some extra bread for the starters (which some other tables received without having to ask) he almost literally threw the basket on to our table and marched off without saying anything. Instead of placing platters in front of us he simply handed the dishes directly to us. He also accidentally cleared my mother's dessert spoon and she had to wait 5 mins for him to bring a replacement, which he did with a sour face as though it was an unreasonable request instead of something he should have done automatically to rectify his own mistake. Say nothing of any attempt at introducing the dishes, to this day we have no idea what the 'Mozart dessert' contained. Overall the experience was more akin to a cheap cafe than a restaurant. There was also ample seating outside on the terrace but I noticed that all guests booked for the dinner + concert package were packed into the indoor restaurant area, which became hot and stuffy despite the cool weather because there was no air conditioning and the fans were off. Service was also slow and the dinner finished with barely any time for us to explore the castle before the concert started. There was a hint of racial discrimination: several tables received a complimentary dessert but I noticed our table (my family is East Asian) and another table of Asian customers were skipped. Overall, I would recommend dining elsewhere and booking the...
Read moreIncredibly poor service and rude, disrespectful staff.
We waited by the entrance for about 10 minutes and no one came to seat us so we sat down at an empty table. We sat for another 10 minutes before we were able to hail someone down to give us a menu, and she didn’t return to take our order until we hailed her down again. Overall it took over half an hour between entering and getting our two overpriced cocktails (plus they charged us 3 euro for two tiny cups of tap water!)It was not busy enough to justify this - maybe 15 tables split between two servers.
During the time we were there we noticed several tables leave because no one came to serve them.
After we sat down, a young family with a toddler sat down at the table next to us and one of the servers started angrily shouting at them, calling them “assholes” and demanding they leave. It seemed like he was angry because they sat down at an uncleared table without waiting to be seated, but this was the same thing that we and many others had done, since there was no one seating guests at the door.
It was hard not to think that this reflected racism from the staff member - the family that got yelled at was Asian, but nothing was said about the many tables with white people who had done exactly the same thing. On top of that, aggressively shouting at a young family with a toddler present was totally uncalled for, even if they had done something that was against the rules.
Overall, this was by far the worst service at a restaurant I encountered in our entire two week trip. Clearly the restaurant staff feel that there is no need to treat people respectfully as the clientele is mostly tourists.
We won’t be coming back and I would not recommend that anyone else visit - buy a beer in town and take it up with you to enjoy the...
