Donaupark — Attraction in Vienna

We have been to the Spielplatz at Donaup on several occasions, but I hadn't wandered through Donaupark until recently. I've lived here almost 3 years and I'm sorry I haven't done this sooner, as it is probably now my favorite park in all of Wien! It is bigger than I expected with little "nooks and crannies" hidden throughout. A friend and I went on a walk through recently and compared it to a smaller Central Park. A beautiful pond is near the center with a green open space nearby. Lots of paved paths for running, cycling or scootering. Or simply going for a nice stroll. In the Spring, March or April the beautiful plum or apple trees are in full bloom and line a gorgeous path towards the Donauturm. A huge open space is splayed out also in front of Donauturm for sport, picnic, etc. So much possibility! In the warmer months there is also a kinder train that travels...

Of the many gorgeous parks Vienna has to offer the Donaupark is possibly the most boring and uninspired. Created some 60 years ago to serve as the venue of an international gardening exhibition it was planned with lots of straight lines, right angles and broad, paved roads; space to move multitudes of visitors along rectangular, orderly flower beds. Now, more than half a century later, some parts of this huge area have been softened somewhat. But by and large, the old designs still define the place.

The Donaupark is among gardens and parks what the huge housing projects (the Rennbahn Weg comes to mind) of the 1960s and 70s are for public housing: Designed on the drawing board, with geometry in mind instead of...

(Locatie)

Parc-ul se afla langa multe statii de metrou. Exista multe autobuze in zona cu care poti ajunge. Parcul este departe de centrul din Viena. In schimb este foarte mare, foarte bun pentru localnici.

(Curat)

In parc este foarte curat. Primaria se ocupa de curatenie. Iar majoritatea, nu totii oamenii pastreaza locul curat. Exista cişmele din care poti sa bei apa. Eu am fost la prima ora de dimineata, la alergat, erau oameni care faceau curatenie, udau sau tundeau gazonul.

(Dimensiune)

Parcul este destul destul de mare. Iar in interior diverse drumuri si locuri verzi in care poti sa stai, de asemenea si bancute.

(Mancare)

Nu ecista locuri de mancat in parc, de exemplu tarabe, este un restaursnt in schimb in apropriere sau in afara parcului, locuri/lacaluri de unde sa poti lua mancare.

(Locuri de joaca)

Sunt locuri de joaca pentru copii mici. Si niste terenuri de sport sau zone in care te poti juca.

(Biciclete)

Un parc exceptional de bun de a te plimba cu bicicletele. Este destul de mare, drumurile sunt largi, dar doar pe anumite portiuni, si sunt si piste speciale pentru biciclete. Sunt si locuri de unde sa poti inchiria biciclete.

(Alergare)

Spatiul este destul de mare si aerisit. Poti sa alergi in tot parcul, pe diferite drumuri, si de trail si pe asfalt, nu ai cum sa te incurci cu altii care alearga, sau se dau cu bicicleta sau se plimba doar.

(Caini)

Poti sa-ti plimbi cainele lejer, sunt si locuri speciale unde ii poti da drumul liber si sa se joace acolo. Sau poati doar sa-l plimbi pur si simplu prin parc.

(Citit)

Sunt destul de multe bancute, si nefiind copii mici, asa multi, poti sta linistit sa citesti acolo.

(Diverse)

Exista si un mic lac, ai locuri din care sa poti sa bei apa, exista locuri in care poti sa ti pui paturica si sa stai la iarba verde sau sa joci un badminton.

(Noapte)

Noaptea este destul de luminos. Mai peste tot in parc ai destula vizibilitate, deci nu trebuie...
