Schönbrunn Palace Park — Attraction in Vienna

best part about it is that the main, huge part of the park is completely free to enter, so you don't even have to buy a palace ticket to get a taste of the imperial life. ​it's massive, so plan to do a lot of walking. you've got the perfectly manicured great parterre right in front of the palace, with all the statues and fountains. it's so symmetrical and fancy, you feel like you're in a period drama. then there are the less formal parts of the park, with big trees and winding paths. you'll see locals jogging, families with kids, and tourists like me just trying to take it all in. ​a big must-do is the walk up to the gloriette. it's a bit of a climb up a gentle hill, but the view is just... chef's kiss. you look down on the whole palace and the city beyond it. it's a great photo spot and there's even a cafe up there if you need a little reward for your effort. ​there are also a few smaller, special areas you can pay to enter, like the maze, which is fun for a quick break from all the history, and the privy garden, which is a more secluded, ornate part of the garden. and of course, the zoo is also on the grounds and is a whole attraction in itself. ​it's a perfect mix of formal beauty and natural space. you can easily spend an entire afternoon here, getting lost in the paths and just...

It's the main summer palace of the Habsuburg rulers. The palace is close to the underground station, and the entrance to the gardens is free. However, you need to pay an entrance fee for the main building, the zoo and for the conservatory. The area is really big and amazing, with so many things to see and explore. Any time of the year you visit it you will see something different, from full grass in summer to no leaves or grass in the winter. We went to the conservatory which is the perfect place to get amazing photos (especially if you are with your girlfriend). It has so many varieties of trees and flowers it's worth the admission fee. There is a zoo as well, which apparently is quite big, but we didn't visit this time. You can also go to the main fountain which is surrounded by sculptures, and get some nice pictures as well. You can then go uphill to see the amazing view of the palace and Vienna. It will remind people of the Greenwich view from London,at least to those one that have been there. The walking uphill is a bit of a cardio so brace yourself. There is a cafe up the hill to eat, drink and use the toilets. It's a bit expensive but you pay for the view and for be able to sit and enjoy a cold beer or a cake on a warm or cold, depending on the of year,...

A wide huge & spacious historical palace standing since 1569. A highly recommended for those who are interested in real art. If you are willing to visit everything inside, make sure to have enough time for perhaps one day so you will be able to see everything. Great gardens, sculptures, the palace visit was exquisite where you can visit 20 or 40 rooms depends on your ticket purchased at the entrance. Photos are not allowed and even bags. Yet there are lockers outside where the staff will help you to safely keep it there during your tour inside the palace itself. Lots of trees inside of different types, lots of fountains as well, and the most fun part was the maze where you can be lost with your family, children, or partner. The zoo has a different ticket. You can chill inside by eating or drinking or even sit by the decks in the shades. Make sure to have lots of water with you as it is really hot during summer and the walking areas take too long. The Gloriette is a must visit place, as well as the orangery where you get to know different kinds and species of tress from different countries planted there.
