Perfect croissant!!! I’m so sad to have discovered this patisserie only the day before my departure. Having stayed for several days and craving for some good croissant, I Googled and found this place only a couple minutes away from my hotel. I had even passed by after dinner one night but didn’t even notice it since it was closed. Anyway, my all-time favorite pastry is plain (natural) croissant and this is a perfect one! Wonderfully flaky, light and just the right amount of butter. Perfect size too as some are either too small or skinny. I must come to Brussels to have this croissant again and also try other fabulous looking pastries. Thank you for making me...

A great discovery I mqde thanks to a friend in the centrum of Brussels. When you see the place from the outside you wouldn't think much of it, another bakery around. But once you have tasted their product it's when you realize that this place make true homemade, a to z, bakeries. The small kitchen you see when entering is where the magic happens, it does have a price of having a smaller exposed catalogue of products but fear not as you can order, which I strongly suggest for multiple people order, your desired cakes and such. Having taken small one sized cheesecake and tasted bigger birthdays cakes, I cannot wait for winter to see what I can...

La Pâtisserie Brian Joyeux, c’est la pâtisserie tellement cachée, qu’il m’a fallu l’aide de Facebook pour découvrir que je suis déjà passé 50 fois dans cette rue sans jamais l’apercevoir. La pâtisserie Brian Joyeux n’a rien à cacher, tout est fait devant le client, à tout moment on peut parler avec Brian, il se fait une joie de répondre à toutes les questions. C’est une pâtisserie personnalisée, un peu sur mesure puisque les grands gâteaux ne sont fait que sur commande, le catalogue étant disponible sur le site internet ou en magasin. Les petits gâteaux individuels sont quotidiennement vendus dans la boutique, et Brian Joyeux n’en réalise que trois différents par jour Il met 3 jours pour réaliser sa pâte feuilletée, elle est obtenue par des abaissages et des pliages successifs de couches alternant une pâte basique (farine, eau et sel) et la matière grasse, ici du beurre français d’Isigny. Plus les étapes sont longues, meilleure sera la pâte feuilletée. Et lorsque l’on met en bouche un croissant Brian Joyeux c’est l’extase assurée. De retour à la maison j’ai invité la famille à déguster, gâteaux et tarte Tropezienne, autour d’un café, et j’ai pu entendre des Hummmmm des Hooooooo voir même certains “puis-je en avoir un deuxième?” Tout le monde était unanime, de l’excellente pâtisserie à la française.
