One of the must-sees for any visit to Liege, simply because of its uniqueness of 370+ steps in the middle of the city! Plus, you get a good workout while visiting it too (reasonable level of fitness is required, but nothing too strenuous or dangerous). At any rate, the stairs are fairly broad and not very steep, so you can always take a break in between.

At the top, you get a view of the city, which gets better if you climb up a bit further to a war monument which gives you a broader view of the city and river. Here, you'll also find the remains of a citadel with a hospital on top. Nothing too fancy so give yourself a maximum of 10 mins here.

A note about the nearby Coteaux de la Citadelle: it is basically a network of paths you can take that criss-crosses the hillsides among houses next to the stairs. I would recommend first ascending the Montagne de Bueren steps just for the thrill, then descend via one of these paths. I would particularly recommend the path called 'Terrasses des Minimes', which takes you across some gardens and ruins with some amazing uninterrupted views of the city...

I went to Lieges on a whim, and on the way there I looked up what to do. I HATE shopping on vacation. I'd rather listen to an entire Demi Lovato album than shop. So I came here instead. There are a lot of stairs, and I didn't want people to think I was some out of shape guy. I climbed without resting.

When you're climbing, imagine carrying up groceries or something. It has to be crazy to live on these steps. The view from the top is awesome. Lieges is an interesting city, and the climb was worth it. There appeared to be a bar on the top at one point, but it was closed. It was more like a small kitchen. Bring water. The climb down is...

It is impressive, it is worth admitting. While I was walking, I grumbled, saying "why do they have such a big staircase, it's not practical." But when I reached the top, I understood the answer to this question :)If you go further, you will reach a large park and the citadel. There is also a beautiful view of the city. There is no one here on weekend evenings, I don't know why. There are also residential buildings above and below, and people live here. Often there are requests to "be quieter" hanging on the windows, because there are small children there. In general, I advise you to visit, it made a pleasant impression on me

A must do when you visit the city of Liege. Iconic spotlight and tourist attraction of the city. 300 steps up the hill to benefit from amazing city views of downtown Liege. Well worthy the effort. The stairs and houses are themselves deserving a visit. On the very last step on the top, it is indicated a spot where you can stand to get the best photo of the city landscape below you. Have a bottle of water with you, well needed after the physical exercise, as you will not find a shop or bar nearby the top of the stairs
