I took a 3-day sailing tour with Ragga Sailing Adventures over the Christmas holiday and it was the most fun I had on my visit to Belize. I almost cancelled because I thought my time could be better spent doing other things around the country but I'm happy I continued with my plans to take this tour because as a solo traveler the crew made me feel like family. Even if you're not the most social person, it is easy to strike up conversations with other travelers and the crew.

We had mostly cloudy days on our tour and it didn't put a damper on the mood at all. We were worried our tour would be cancelled but the weather report showed that the rain would eventually stop. It poured down rain the first night (on Rendezvous Caye) but our tents remained dry. We got to get close to a sting ray that usually turns up as Ish Jr cleans fish for our dinner on the beach. We gathered under a shelter that is used as the dining area and ate a big meal, talked, danced, and laughed until we decided to go to bed. I didn't book this tour thinking I'd go snorkeling but on our way to each destination, we stopped for guided snorkeling with Shane, Alex, and Rashel where they pointed out different corals and sea life and told us more about the area and how Belize protects its biodiversity. Most of the time I chose to stay on the boat and chill and I still got to see dolphins, eagle rays, and turtles.

If, like me, being in the water isn't really your thing, you should still take this tour for the delicious food cooked up by Chef Linthon and getting to watch Shane and Alex go spear fishing for dinner. Some folks also got to try spearfishing for themselves. I had never seen spearfishing before this and it was fun to see how easily they caught fish, lobster, and crab. You will constantly be fed and rum punch is always available (along with other non-alcoholic beverages). Food was always being served before I had the chance to get hungry. There were folks on my tour with food allergies and the kitchen staff easily accommodated them. I usually don't repeat activities but I'm already thinking of booking the same tour next year with the same crew: Captain Shane, Chef Linthon, Malik, Alex, Rashel, and Ish Jr. There were good vibes all around with the entire group and we created a WhatsApp group chat so we can all keep in touch. I cannot recommend this tour enough. It is...

Honestly the crew is amazing and I have nothing but the best things to say about them. They made us feel welcomed, safe and my the stay enjoyable.

I had three little issues. One of which was out of their control.

Issue 1: I spoke with the office two days before arrival and I was told I could pay by credit card. The day before the arrival I received an email stating that I had to pay in cash. I was already in Belize and had to spend hours going from ATM to ATM to not exceed the max withdrawal and than pay an arm fee and a foreign currency conversion fee. I also has to contact my usa bank to increase my daily limit. It took up a ton of time and resources to obtain the cash. Than upon arrival the woman said our credit card machine is broken and has been for a while but if you insist on using a credit card ill take it. This seems rude and hugely inconvenient for me.

My second issue is the city the drop you off in. Its seems scary and unsafe. Many of the other cruise passengers I became friends with agreed.

Third: They refuse to help you make arrangements to get from the location they drop off in. People are this scary pier which seems to be makeshift will approach you with offers. I found the offers to be excessively expensive since I had already resersched the cost and eventually found some to give me the price I found on the internet. I can't emphasize how many of us complained about this and said how scare and ridiculous this was. They should arrange drop-off options to atkeast major cities.

Fourth: When you get on the boat the company request that you put your shoes in a bag. Tye shoes will be returned upon departure. On our cruise they forgot to put the shoes on the return boat. We waited for your shoes for approximately 2 hours after we got off the boat?

Fifth: I've done a lot of snorkeling and we didn't see many types or size of fish. Maybe we just got unlucky but many Guest from caye caulker said they saw many more fish in Caye caulker than on the sailing trip.

I wouldn't recommend it or do it again. It was fun but I was expecting more. I could add more but out of respect to the company I've really only listed thinks which are factual.

The people are really nice. I just don't want anyone on the fence to waste...

I went to Ragga Sailing Adventures back in April. The weather was hot but beautiful!

Bret, Captain Jacob , Naz , Salam , Linton, and Freddy. Was the tour I was put on with for my 3 day snorkeling tour. This honestly was hands down the best crew I personally could have been put on a boat with. Everyone single one of them spoke something of my son to me. My son had recently passed away. They may never know exactly what they said, but they did. I know you guys will read this. I pray you guys know you’re on the right tracks in life. One day at a time. Keep sharing kindness like you do. I took a trip out of the country for my first time alone. I lost all fear in life. The world is beautiful. I wasn’t okay to go to work everyday. Belize as a whole brought me so much love and peace. It’s what I thought I lost when my son passed away. I was able to find it again. I finally have an at home job. I will be visiting more when I finish out the next few big shows I have. I love you guys. I love belize. Thank you for allowing me to be me. No one judged for crying. They all allowed me to feel my emotions without disrupting.

In my frother I put coconut milk, a small piece of chocolate, with a pinch of salt. The foam is wonderful! Top it with cacao nibs from a belize.

I like to pair it with a green tea and chai tea with Honey Or I’ll make a chocolate chai tea with honey. Belize chocolate company in Belize is where I got the tea and nibs. They deliver to the U.S.

I also make juices to drink in the am and throughout the day. I love sitting on my patio in the early cooler sun and to enjoy my drinks.

Love creamers. ♥️ I truly love coffee. I am taking a break while now making more teas that benefit my health. Speaking of, I will go make one after I send this. My creamer journey in life has been fun. I used to be a barista. I spoil myself in that area now. I am patient with my food and drinks. I pray you all can enjoy your cup of Joe and hopefully one day homemade juice as much as I do. It’s a real love language for me. Thanks for reading my Ted talk if...

I recommend Ragga Sailing for an awesome snorkeling and sailing adventure! The voyage: Shane, Shane and Dane were great hosts aboard the Ragga Gal. Sailing was a fun change from the usual power boat tour and we got to hang out on the upper deck and bask in the sun. The crew took care of you, providing sandwiches, fruit, ceviche and beverages. They also ensured each persons mask and fins were securely stored away between stops and returned to the same person each time. The snorkeling: Wow, we saw so much! Stops included shark ray alley, Hol Chan and the coral gardens. Unfortunately the manatees were MIA, probably due to constant disturbance by tour boats. The crew spent extra time showing & telling all of us about everything we were seeing, including all the different fish species, not just the larger animals. They look out for you so you never get separated from the group, and I never felt rushed. They also do not feed the marine life, and ensure there is no plastic waste that might end up in the ocean. Why choose Ragga Sailing vs. another company? Besides all of the above, I will share my personal experience: I had done a full day snorkeling tour with another company to the same places previously, and while I wasn't dissatisfied with that experience after the fact... It felt quite rushed and hectic. The guides were drinking and even allowed guests who had been drinking to drive the boat. The other guests seemed more interested in partying and drinking on the boat which was not the case this second time around as the group was a lot more chill and excited about the marine life. That is a risk of a solo traveller joining tours- you can't choose who you go with! Point being: I felt safe and comfortable for the entire trip with Ragga Sailing and the crew remained sober and focused on providing the best service and experience to all of the guests.
