It’s great to support a locally owned business that does things right! You are welcomed the second you walk through the door and usually they give you a coffee shot while you are waiting. Two mornings they gave a warm mini donut while we went over the menu. The yogurt bowls were our go too item a couple mornings in a row. Mango yogurt base with a fruit of choice and three toppings. I went with banana, almonds, peanut butter, and fresh coconut. Great way to start the morning alongside a cold brew - enjoyed beachside. Chill vibe with a great music mix playing in the background. Wifi throughout the property.
Once ordered you find a seat, hammock or table and enjoy the surroundings. You are given a number to display at your table and the staff brings the food to you. They always leave saying “if there’s anything else you need please just ask”. Obviously they are well trained as well as efficient, even when it’s busy.
The owners are awesome. Compostable fork/spoon, no styrofoam. They have a donation box for the animal shelter which tells me they are civically engaged and part of the island community. They also do punchcard reward system so you can earn free drinks.

Before I left Caye Caulker today I wanted to have one last breakfast there. I (completely moronically) had my passport fall out of my pack and in the bottom of one of the hammocks. I made it all the way to Belize City and realized what had happened. I called Ice and Beans and the manager picked up right away. They had found my passport and were hoping I would come back to retrieve it. Once hearing what I had done, the manager ran over and gave the ferry captain my passport to bring to me. I called at 10:27 and the ferry was leaving at 10:30… I don’t know how he did it with having to run 1/4 mile to get there. I was able to pick up the passport and BARELY made my flight on time. I tried to send him money and everything else but he was just happy to helped out and that it made it on time. I will never forget that and will definitely be back. We love Caye Caulker.
That was a long story but this place and the people that work there...
Read moreWe saw so many great reviews of this spot before coming to Caye Caulker. We woke up our first day on the island to come try their breakfast. Upon arriving the staff were very friendly/welcoming, giving out little samples of coffee and donuts. We ordered 2 iced lattes and 2 breakfast sandwiches. The atmosphere was lovely and the coffee tasted good. After about 15 minutes they brought us 1 out of the 2 sandwiches & we told the waitress we ordered 2 sandwiches. The waitress assured us that the other was coming out soon. Another 30 mins went by, and the other 10+ guests at the restaurant were being served their food but still no second sandwich. My partner went in to inquire and they half apologized and said it would be right out. Another 15 mins goes by and he asks again, FINALLY it comes out. The owner asked if we got it but really didn’t apologize or take any responsibility for the mix up/delay. The sandwich was a simple croissant with scrambled eggs, bacon and cheese. The sandwich tasted ok but nothing to write home about. We’re pretty patient people, but it was more the lack of accountability that upset us and made us not...
