So I checked into the hotel shortly, and gave the girls at the counter my name for the reservation. Oddly they looked at each other and smiled and did a slight laugh. Wasn’t sure as to why they acted that way which was rude. One of the girls gave me a rundown of how the standard rules are and about security deposits etc. she then asked for a credit card number for the security deposit. Usually that’s already on file when booking a room. Me and my husband own 2 condos at blu zen so we know the whole rundown. Besides that she mentioned twice about the security deposit is because if there are any damages to the room they charge it on the card. I think every person that has stayed in a hotel knows that. It was more of the tone coming off towards us that we seem irresponsible that made me feel uncomfortable towards these 2 young ladies. Maybe have them retrained if they don’t know the proper way at customer service. Room is ok nothing special. It’s clean. Elevator doesn’t work so i had to carry my own luggage up. Most hotels and resorts have someone that does this. Sadly this one doesn’t. Over all if its just a place to lay your head at night and not to interact with the hotel reception about any issues then this would be the...
Read moreThe hotel has an excellent location, with comfortable beds and clean rooms. The balcony was a nice touch, and the rooftop space had potential, but it wasn't being utilized—there was no bartender available to order a cocktail. When we requested an iron, we were told there was only one in the hotel and that we would need to borrow it from another guest, which felt unusual.||Breakfast is not offered on-site, but the hotel directs guests to two nearby restaurants within walking distance. Namaste was my favorite, with healthy options and delicious smoothies.||Unfortunately, the customer service at the hotel was disappointing. The front desk staff, consisting of a younger and an older woman, were unwelcoming. They didn't greet guests as they approached and often appeared to be frowning. On my second day, when I asked the younger woman a question, she avoided eye contact, keeping her attention on her phone, which made me feel ignored. Improving the front desk's customer service with some basic training in soft skills would greatly enhance the overall guest experience. Simple gestures like eye contact, a smile, and a warm greeting could make a...
Read moreWhile this isn't a 5 star hotel, it is a well apportioned hotel in an excellent location, convenient to the water taxi, and it is among the best places to stay on Caye Caulker. The staff were very nice and hotel newer and thus in very good shape. Do be aware that from where I booked it sounded as though I got breakfast but none was offered, nor were there vouchers for local places but I understand that is an option. Great hotel, but do know it is difficult for those with mobility issues as there is no elevator. If you have mobility issues ask for something on the main floor. Caye Caulker itself is not conducive to those with mobility issues. We didn't have any but certainly witnessed some struggle...
