Believe all the bad reviews. It’s actually worse. Check in is from 3pm and only until 5pm. And still there was no one in the office at 3pm although I’d given them my arrival time in advance. A man showed up after I’d waited and called, and said he couldn’t find my booking on the system and didn’t know how much to charge me. He took me to the dorm, stripped one of the beds that seemed taken and told me this would be my bed. I expressed my concerns that he was giving me someone else’s bed and that this would likely cause problems later. He assured me he’d deal with it, saying one of the girls had checked out and that the other might be extending but she hadn’t paid and confirmed yet. It took exactly 90 mins from the moment I set foot here until I was finally checked in, at 35 degrees, no AC and no water offered in the scorching heat. No information about the facilities was provided and I wasn’t even given the code for the dorm door, which later the receptionist complained that I hadn’t given him the time to do. 90 mins weren’t enough for the Go Slow people. Came back in the evening and this unhinged woman started shouting at me. The receptionist had told her I’d had a surgery and that I had been horrible to him and had demanded that bed, which was absolutely not the case. I’d said repeatedly I felt uncomfortable with the fact he’d stripped and given me someone else’s bed. The female manager showed up ready to give me my money back and put me on the street at 10pm. She had been told more lies by said receptionist who was trying to save face. After hearing about the situation, she turned to him and scolded him for the number things he had done wrong right there in front of me. Then she turned to me and told me it was all my fault because I had been too nice! That’s literally what she said. She refused to take responsibility for the problems they caused, saying what happens inside the dorms is not their concern. She also didn’t provide a solution. My choice was to either go back to the dorm with that crazy woman who was insulting and threatening me or go out on the street in the middle of the night. This goes far beyond poor customer service and puts guests in danger. From other locals on the island I heard that everyone keeps their distance from the family running this place as they’re not nice people.

AMAZING hostel. Everything you need in a hostel. The location is great, there are several nice places to eat nearby, and there's a convenience store right on the corner as well. The pier is a 5 minute walk. Free bicycles and kayaks to use at will! Now the best part, the owner, seriously I don't think I've met a nicer guy, so friendly and keen for hour long chats, he has the best recommendations on where to go and what to eat as well. The hostel also offers tours through a 3rd party, do it, they were amazing as well! I was actually really sad to go, i will be back!

dont go in this hostel! absolutely a nightmare, unfriendliest staff ever. AC is only a few hours a day, so they come and knock your door in the morning till you get up to turn off the AC because they keep the remote. After that you cant stay in the room because of the heat. And dont dare to ask during the day if its possible to have it on for one hour. Matress very old, with a big hole. Bunk beds way too noisy. Not enough bathrooms. Never experienced such a bad Hostel.

Extremely poor attitude towards guests. The internet password is so strictly held that only the owners know it and will put it into your device themselves...other staff were not even told what it was...and after all that the Internet is borderline on dial up speeds.

The owners just leave the hostel and no one is at reception, which isn't a big deal, but no note to say e.g. back in 30 mins etc... So many times I saw people waiting to check-in (at an appropriate time) or to book a tour or ask a question...and when they return they do not care that people are waiting. There is even a notice on the door which in so many words states, don't complain if I'm late!

The bunks are flimsy and very loud, even just to turn in your sleep.

The showers are warm which is nice. Cant fault the location as the island is so small.

Small lockers in 4 bed dorm, however, the door can be pulled open even when locked with light to moderate force.

The AC! What a faff, the staff turn it on and it's set at a constant 25 degrees. Which is given we were there in the colder months is useless. When I asked the owner Rosie to change it she said no and made excuses about a policy and the other guests, even after explaining that our fellow room mates all agreed this request was still ignored. Worst still. She comes to the room at 8am (all of us are still sleeping)...my partner answers the door. She says... I'm turning it off. Clicks the remote (which they keep in the office) and walks off!

Overall, wouldn't return, find a...

I would have given it 4 stars but unfortunately the owner Rosie was very rude to me. She immediately had an unfriendly attitude because I had accidentally booked two people for one night instead of one person for two nights. While she eventually changed it she did a good job making me feel bad about this pretty small issue. Then when I was leaving i had looked for her to ask if I could leave my bag for an extra hour or two while I went to yoga but no one was at reception (there was often no one there in fact). When I came back she scolded me again like a little child and then stood in the door, watching be gather my things and complaining that she had better things to do. After a shower which she was nice enough to let me have before leaving I decided to go apologize so I didn't leave with bad vibes. I would have just left the place and not bothered leaving a review EXCEPT that after I apologized she just told me again how I'd not followed the rules. Really rude behavior on an island where the slogan is "go slow".

Besides her it's a decent place, good location, comfortable beds, towels for $2BZD, laundry service next door, and even a secret hot shower which...
