Favela Museum — Attraction in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

I spent three months living and doing research in Rio, and this was by far my most enriching experience. Rita and Beth were incredible guides and it was clear that so much thought was put into making it a meaningful, safe, and memorable experience. Even if you don't speak Portuguese, this tour is a far better choice than the traditional, touristy "favela tour" and you will learn so much more from actual residents, not to mention your fee supports a much better cause.
