Wow. if you are looking for a wonderful place to eat, while experiencing the traditional Brazilian buffet, you will find no better place than here. We were in Rio from 25Dec-03Jan2016 and we ate here twice. We would have eaten here more often had we found it sooner. It is fairly easy to find, and our Lonely Planet guide book had excellent directions. We were just taking everything in in Ipanema and got a little sidetracked. The decor is welcoming, and the restaurant is kept immaculate.

We enjoyed lunch an we were not disappointed. One of us is a vegetarian and Frontera did not disappoint. So many wonderful meat-free dishes, as well as fresh churrascaria for the carnivores.

You can do a by the kilo option, or all-you-can-eat. Whichever you choose, you will not be disappointed.

TIP: Leave room for dessert, because when you see the offerings you will understand why. Even if you normally skip dessert (like me), don't skip it here. It is a slightly extra but...

‼️AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!! Our visit to Frontera Ipanema on Sunday 28th February was absolutely shocking and scary. We approached the manager on 3 occasions to make him aware that there was no Meat or Chicken available at all, we also made him aware that we hadn't been offered any drinks or pizza from the Rodizio and the Pizzas slices were ending before they reached our table. I asked to see the manager again as I thought he should know about our experience and that he would apologise or bring us food, but, he became extremely aggressive with me and told me that he would take me outside and fight with me in the street! We decided to leave and go somewhere else. I have never ever experienced anything like this before in my life and I am still extremely shocked by his actions. All of my employees have expenses accounts and they regularly take clients to Frontera restaurants for business meetings, but now I will make sure that they avoid these...

Fui com minha esposa e meu filho, pedimos o Rodízio de Pizza que também inclui Buffet liberado sem bebida. O Buffet é variado, já a pizza deixa um pouco a desejar no quesito sabor ( não é ruim, mas dá pra melhorar). Uma sugestão pra Gerência/Administração, é adicionarem a pizza doce com sorvete no Rodízio, assim como o restaurante La Pietra, em Xerém.

Destaco aqui o atendimento que foi muito bom. Fomos ontem (segunda feira), e não reservamos mesa antes, pois achamos que o movimento segunda seria tranquilo. Ao chegarmos, todas as mesas estavam ocupadas ou reservadas, o gerente prontamente utilizou sua proatividade e nos acomodou ( improvisadamente). Funcionários atenciosos, sempre perguntando se precisávamos de algo. Ponto positivo pela atenção ao cliente.

Dicas: 1- Reservar com antecedência 2- Sentar próximo ao balcão do Buffet 3- Dependendo da pessoa, não é vantagem pagar refil.
