CAMBODIA WITH KIDS 🇰🇭 We had a rocky start when we arrived but it was purely down to lack of information online, when travelling to Cambodia as a family! So here’s our top tips and places to visit on your next trip: 📌 (SAVE THIS) 1. VISAS: 🇬🇧 UK residents need to purchase a visa either online or upon arrival for $30 (+$5.00 if purchased online) and they are valid for 30 days and everyone needs one, even babies. We split our time between Battambang and Siem Reap: Siem Reap: 1. . 🛕 Angkor Wat Circuit - take good shoes and hire a taxi for the day at $25 on @grabkh 2. 🏖️ @wakeparkcambodia - an amazing free artificial beach with inflatable slides, a beach bar and a wake park 🏄♂️ 3. 👶🏻 Baby outlet, Siem reap - ideal for stocking up baby essentials and a free soft play on the first floor 4. 🍦Pub street - the iconic street full of restaurants and bars. Pricier than the night food markets but worth a wander and you’ll find the best gelato @gelatolabsiemreap 5. 🛝 @chocolategardensr - a beautiful outdoor cafe with the best doughnuts and a play area/reading corner. 6. 🪁 @kamengleng - one of Siem Reaps hidden gems! We found this amazing play house and restaurant a bit later on in our trip and the boys LOVED it here. They serve such amazing, fresh food which is all handmade too 🥦 Battambang: 1. 🚂 Bamboo train ride - a bucketlist must! 2. 🪀 @hongkongshopbattambang (also in Siem reap) - The biggest toy shop we’ve visited with 4 floors and a lovely soft play and trampoline area for the kids for $2/£1.57 3. 🏛️ Phnom Sampov Temple and Caves - the history is heartbreaking but the temple is really beautiful and there’s lots of monkeys! 🐒 4. 🌉 Golden Gate Bridge - a mini Lara Croft adventure but totally worth a visit on your tour. 5. 🍦Mixue (locations across Asia) - the biggest ice creams you can get your hands on for 39p/2000riel Have you visited 🇰🇭 with kids yet? 🫶🏼 #VisitCambodia #Cambodia #CambodiaTravelGuide #CambodiaTravel #CambodiaTourism #TravelToCambodia #OffTheBeatenPath #Battambang #familytravel #familieswhotravel #familyfriendlytravel #travelguide #travelpassport #travelhacks #travelwithkids #asiatravel #cambodiatrip #bucketlisttravel

If you are heading to Cambodia with kids, here are some great activities in Siem Reap that will keep them entertained👇 🎪The Phare Circus Who doesn’t love a circus? This one is not only entertaining but gives you some insight into the culture, supports local artists and are advocates for sustainable initiatives. You can shop for goods made by students and local artisans before the show and enjoy some ice cream! @pharecambodiancircus 🐀The Apopo - rats that save lives! It is heart wrenching to learn how many unexploded ordinances there still are all over Cambodia, killing and significantly wounding locals every year. These rats are trained to sniff them out and slowly decrease the remaining number. You get to eat the process and feed and hold them. @herorats 🍺Pub Street All the action in Siem Reap in the evening, happens here, at Pub Street. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from but I recommend the street food lining the park. There is tons of people watching, ice cream and feet fish everywhere. 🐎Horseback riding It’s a nice change of pace to head to the countryside and our kids are all about the horseback riding and we are suckers for our kids. The Happy Ranch Horse Farm is fabulous with kids and offer 1-3 hour rides through villages and rice paddies. @thehappyranchhorsefarm 🪷Get a Massage! Like most of SE Asia, massages are quite affordable here too! So treat the kids to couples massages with mom and dad in the heat of the day when you don’t want to be doing anything else! @bodia_spa 📍See this for your visit to Siem Reap ———————————————— 👋 Hi, I’m Valerie - traveler, mom and photographer! Pub Street in Siem Reap is a vibrant and bustling hub located in the heart of the city. It is renowned for its lively atmosphere, vibrant nightlife, and a wide array of bars, restaurants, and clubs. Visitors can enjoy a diverse range of international and local cuisines, from traditional Khmer dishes to Western favorites. The street is also a popular destination for tourists looking to unwind after a day of exploring the nearby Angkor Wat temples. With its energetic ambiance and variety of entertainment options, Pub Street is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the vibrant nightlife of Siem Reap.

June 9th 2024 This street is similar to Bangla Road in Phuket if anyone has been to that location before. It is a street full of nightlife and lights and of course many vendors trying to sell their products. Nevertheless, it is an experience and is alot of fun. Plenty of choices of eateries and bars - we did try a few and enjoyed them. Specifically Goal Sports Bar and The Red Piano - not quite on Pub Street but up one of the streets running off it is an amazing bar called Asana Old Wooden House - it's like a treehouse type vibe once you go up the stairs - look for it.

First off, our stay in Siem Reap was mostly so we could see Angkor Wat and the countryside. Second, my husband, my four young kids and I enjoy traveling to different parts of the world so we can mingle with locals, as well as enjoy their cuisine. I just want to lay out possible biases of why Pub Street would only get a two star rating. So Pub Street basically is what it sounds like: a street with a bunch of food/drinking options. You want to go to a street that's lined with restaurants (not so much "pubs" in the traditional sense), while having each establishment's staff call out to you to eat/drink at their place, while bopping to techno and edm, eating overpriced western cuisine, and looking at pretty twinkling lights? Then Pub Street's for you. And no judgment. You do you;). I would be remiss if I didn't also mention how I was propositioned to purchase drugs by a person posing as a tuktuk driver while walking down the street with my kids (the only time that this happened to me or my husband in our whole six weeks of traveling southeast Asia). Needless to say, we found Pub Street completely outside of what we desired for our time in Siem Reap. We did frequent the 7-eleven at the end of the street quite often, as we needed quick caffeine hits for the road. My kids also enjoyed splurging and buying dragon breathe ice cream from one of the carts on the street one evening. The lights were pretty, but I'd say it's a walk through and be done. Instead, I recommend going around the corner and eating some great local food at Khmer Taste. Great prices and probably the best food we had our whole time in Cambodia.
