Our family of 2 adults and 3 children arrived after a long drive from Phnom Penh. From the moment we stepped out of our car, we were waited on hand and foot! We were met by Nara (food and beverage management), Pov and Phaera (guest services) and Sona, (customer relations/management team). Our bags were promptly carried to reception, where we were asked to take a seat on the comfortable lounges. After handing over passports for the check in process, our welcome pina colada mocktails were prepared by the wonderful Nara, along with some ice-cold towels. What a lovely, fine young man Nara is. In no time he had befriended our 3 children, and they were having a good old chat! Our autistic 8 year old daughter found an instant connection with Pov, and enjoy talking with her and catching guppy fish in the hotels small ponds.
Pov completed our check in with us, and explained in detail each aspect of the hotel and location to Pub Street, markets, money exchanger, and restaurants (all just a quick walk away!). Pov then guided us to our two poolside rooms 003 & 004, where we discovered our names written on the bed. We found an apology letter regarding noise that we may encounter with the offer of complimentary ear plugs, however, we did not hear a single sound once in our rooms with the air conditioning on in the evening. The rooms are of good size with plenty of storage and are impeccably clean, and fastidiously maintained daily, by the hotel staff. The air conditioning works well in cooling you down after returning from a hot and sweaty expedition in Siem Reap town. The bathrooms are large and there is plenty of fresh linen, toilet paper and complimentary toiletries should you need them! The hotel offers a laundry service but we opted for a cheaper alternative option outside the hotel. The hotel itself structurally, is decorated in traditional Khmer style. Heavy timbers are used, and although well worn, it is clean!
The pool area is divine. At the present time, it is almost Khmer New Year, so the hotel is decorated with colourful star lanterns and these look beautiful lit up throughout the trees at night! We have enjoyed many a refreshing swim during our stay, and you are able to order drinks directly to your table or lounger. The service is fast and seamless. We were able to put our drinks on our room tab to settle at the end of our stay and the menu is well priced for a hotel. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with frangipani trees and trailing pathos plants everywhere! During our stay, there was always someone sweeping, mopping, gardening and pottering about, making sure the hotel is at its best and the staff are available on a whim for anything you need! The tiles on the pool are old and chipping in bits so something to be mindful of.
Breakfast is served at the tables inside reception or by the pool. We opted to eat by the pool, as the setting is just gorgeous and peaceful! The menu is 15 al a carte options, both western and Khmer, that you order the day before. We sampled American breakfasts, pancakes, Khmer noodle soups and more. Food is delicious and the poached eggs are perfect! Your selection also comes with coffee tea, juice, water and a fresh plate of fruit! We were even offered salad but we had to turn it down as the breakfast was so big and filling!
All in all, we have found the service in Cambodia, but in particular, at the Khmer Mansion Boutique Hotel to be the best we have ever encountered to date in Asia. Do yourself a favour and book your stay here, you won’t regret it! Much love to all the staff at this amazing place.

Read moreI would appreciate this hotel had provide the most memorable experience in my travel. I highly recommend this small and delicate hotel to anyone who enjoys the friendly atmosphere and 5-star service standard.
The hotel is located just the opposite road of Pub Street, around 5 minutes walk to the Old Market. The entrance with the security guard may be difficult to find out at the first time. Passing through the entrance, the beautiful decorated corridor will guide you to the lobby where the staff are always stand by for welcoming you with a cold towel and water.
I came to check in before the regular check in time but the staff had tried the best to provide a clean room with air condition switched on. The receptionist Chanty was very nice and introduced the hotel and services provided in detail with fluent English. I was surprised the staff Butterfly brought a set of welcome snack and drink with beautiful housewares.
I had booked the pool view room located at 2nd floor. The room was clean, tidy and well decorated. The shower was strong enough with hot water that helped me relaxing after the long visit in Angkor Wat. As many comments and also the staff mentioned, it would have some noise because of the Lady Boy show, but I thought most of the noises came from the strong music from the Pub Street. The noise was still in acceptable level for me and the hotel can provide an ear plug if needed.
The breakfast was provided in both Western and Asian styles with fruit platter. The hotel also prepared the breakfast box for me when I went to see the sunrise. All the foods were delicious with enough portion.
The most surprising me was the super friendly and charming staff. They quickly recognized me and called my name everytime. Every staff are keep smiling with heart to welcome you. They were professional and responded to my request quickly. They did not only concern your stay in hotel, but also the whole trip experience during Siem Reap. I would specially say thank to Mr Butterfly who took care my stay and shared a lot of knowledge and customs of Cambodia. He was a fabulous staff that I had ever seen in hospitality industry. He aimed himself to provide a high level of service standard with truthful communication. I would also like to thanks Chanty, Kert and all staff who performed beyond 5-star hotel standard.
This hotel may not compare as a large 5-star resort in the aspect of facilities like a huge swimming pool, gym room or several choices of restaurants, but it provides a warm atmosphere with superb services. Such human-touch feeling and experiences you will never find in any high-end hotel which everyone just follow the standard operating procedures and response like a machine. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope you will also have a memorable experience during...
Read moreKhmer Mansions advertises itself as 4 stars. In many ways it is, but I cannot concur because foods served lacked proper hygiene. Otherwise, the hotel excels in every way. Pros: 1. Setting is beautiful and staff go out of their way to accommodate guest requests, offering a gracious, warm and inviting smile to each guest. Guests are addressed by name, with a slight bow and warm smile. 3. Rooms are spacious and well appointed, with nice amenities. Rooms receive two services each day, once in the morning and second before turning in at night. Staff are quick and thorough, leaving two small pieces of cake at the night service. Latte or Cappuccino are offered gratis during breakfast and are made to perfection. Hotel is located on the outskirts of Siem Reap, and walking into the city is not recommended. Hotel offers a free one-way ride into the city, with two drop-off locations. There are many other positive details, but I've made my point. A few Cons: Breakfast items are served both buffet style and by menu. Menu items are prepared in the kitchen and then brought to the guest in the open eating area. Buffet foods are uncovered throughout breakfast, from 6:00 till after 10:00 AM. At least one item contains mayonnaise, while breads, cakes, veggies, sliced fruit, condiments, etc., are uncovered. Insects have free access to the foods. l made a few recommendations to the front office GM about covering foods with nylon mesh but they went nowhere. His response was that a nearby fan deterred flying insects, but the fan was used infrequently (1 or 2 days per week). I had two serious bouts with diarrhea during my stay. The second episode was alarming because of much blood in the stool. It resolved after five days, but I was extremely concerned. I changed my diet and was extremely cautious about buffet foods afterwards. Bottom Line: I'd stay here again but the breakfast food would have to be accounted for by extreme caution. I was on a business trip gathering material for a forthcoming book...
