Osmose — Attraction in Siem Reap

Not an exaggeration to say that this was the highlight of our stay in Siem Reap. We enjoyed our tour with NGO Osmose more than the temples!

Why? You get so much out of the day. We learned so much and saw so much, from the incredible amount of wildlife/birds (most we've seen during our stay in Thailand and Cambodia) to the non-touristy floating villages further away from Siem Reap, where a lot of your money goes to directly support the villagers make incomes from sustainable ecotourism, and to support conservation of this incredible wildlife reserve.

Everything was super well organised and Sovann was an absolute delight to be with for the day. His knowledge of the lake and especially all the birds was amazing - he saw so much and pointed out everything so we could see with our binoculars.

I am not a birdwatcher, but the birds themselves were breathtaking. You go to several hides to see them and the amount is incredible. So many pelicans, adjutants and other birds we had no idea existed. Some you can only see here and very few other locations in the world. It really is world class.

You are well looked after during the day, with plenty of food and water and coffee (delicious and big lunch at the village). Pick up and drop off from your hotel. Bring a sun hat and sun screen and you'll have...

What an amazing day with Osmose. I did the 'A glimpse of life on the water' day trip to visit the Prek Toal floating village and experienced many elements of life in the village and on Tonle Sap lake. Sovann my guide was full of knowledge and spoke excellent English. Can't recommend it enough for a different experience with an ethical and ecological tour company who also work with the community to preserve the local nature and educate local kids on conservation and wildlife both at their base in Prek Toal as well as going out to the schools. Osmose tour at Prek Toal floating village and bird reserve was an absolute experience to remember for life. It is not exaggeration to say that Sovann was among the best hosts I have met, enthusiastic, attentive, kind, knowledgeable and giving his 100% for making the best for our stay.
