My husband & I came into town to go to the casino for dinner & play a couple games on Monday November 4th 2019. In the restaurant, we let the waitress know (after she passed us the menu), that we would not be able to eat anything off the menu except a garden salad because we do the Keto Lifestyle. If we have ANY sugar or glucose, we are sick for three days. She then asks if we need more time with the menu?? My husband and I looked at each other as if, REALLY?? We repeated again that we could only have a regular garden salad with no cranberries, candied walnuts or their dressing and asked if we could just have the lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers and we were going to add a grilled chicken. She replied that there are no salads that has tomatoes or cucumbers and she cannot substitute. We asked if they had tomatoes & cucumbers. She said yes but that she cannot substitute it because the cranberries & nuts are not costly but the vegetables were. We told her that we didn't want a huge amount but just a garden salad as we could not eat anything else. She was insisting that she could not. I had informed her that Adrian & the cook had accommodated us several times when we have come in to eat previously. She then said "I will ask the cook but I doubt it". When she came back, she said that there was going to be a charge of $2.50 to add cucumbers & tomatoes. So now we could order a "Garden Salad " (as they have on their menu), with just lettuce (minus the cranberries & candied walnuts) for $9.00 and add cucumbers and tomatoes for an extra $2.50. Making an actual "garden salad" for the price of $11.50. If you look up "GARDEN SALAD", it's made with vegetables from the garden not candied nuts or cranberries!! We were beyond insulted as we were not accommodated in any way shape or form from this waitress and to boot, made felt like we were annoying her!! We never ordered a salad and left as we were just too insulted!! We have been Keto Adapted for years and have eaten at many places that are MORE than willing to accommodate us, that we found it sad that the Casino has a Vegan menu but not a "Gluten-Free/Sugar-Free" menu to accommodate healthy individuals that do a Keto Lifestyle or even a Diabetic, Celiac or others that have health issues for that matter. I TRULY HOPE that they change their menu to accommodate the customers because there are more people trying to live a healthy life and need to know that they can go for a dinner without the grief we...
Read moreFirst of all I would like to say that we frequented the casino on a regular basis. Probably 3 or 4 times a week. We took many of our friends there and enjoyed the horse racing and found the monthly specials in the restaurant to be extremely good. We also dined there regularly and attended a lot of the special events. Unfortunately we had an extremely disturbing incident happen which has changed our perspective. We were there on a draw night which are exceptionally busy events. We couldn't get into the restaurant so were at the off track tables. The draws take place over a 3 hour time period so we had lots of time to sit and enjoy the evening. We ordered food. We had a few issues with getting cutlery, refills, and minor details but we weren't in a rush and our waitress was extremely flustered and told us it wasn't her regular job so it didn't perturb us. When it came time to pay the bill, it was incorrect. She went back to fix it but came back wrong again. On the third attempt and 20 minutes later we asked if she would like to write it down but she said no. Imagine our surprise when the next thing we knew the security people were there asking us to leave for abusing the waitress! We didn't understand what was going on as no such thing had occurred and told them they were at the wrong table. We were nothing but courteous to her and patient as well! Still in disbelief, we asked them to call over the waitress and ask her why she was upset. She answered, because you asked me if I wanted to write it down.. we said yes, to help you! We couldn't comprehend it. I work with Alzheimer's patients and one of the tools we use with them is to write things down when they get flustered. She misinterpreted a helpful suggestion as a slight! The ironic part is she did have to come back and write it down to get the bill correct. I was barred from the casino for an imposed period which has now been served but I have not been back since. The other people in our party refuse to go back ever again as they couldn't accept what happened as they were witness to it and know it was misconstrued. I am more upset because my integrity has been besmirched unjustly and I pride myself on that. While I applaud the fact they stand behind their staff, it should be warranted and not a matter of perspective. So I guess on that note, a word of advice, don't ask your waitress to...
Read moreWell the casino was good , but the food and bartending was lacking .My friend asked for an "old fashioned burban" a very simple drink and was told they didn't have oranges so could not make it .So he told them to just use cherry. Again was told they could not ,and would he settle for a different drink .That was the first mishap if you will . The next was what I ordered .We were given a special menu with "Grilled Cheese" Excited to see this (I love a good grilled cheese!) I looked it over and decided on what I thought would be amazing. I don't remember the name of it now but it was NOT good at all ! I asked my husband and friend to try it and they both were completely turned off by this sandwich. It was on pita bread with chicken a special mango sauce and cilantro. It was very similar to what was called chicken cabanaro, sub from I told the waitress when asked "how was everything?" That I was not happy with my food at all .I explained that I gave both my companions at the table tried it and it wasn't very good at all . Now I don't like to complain, ever, but when you pay money to eat out ,there is a certain level of expectation you look for .This atleast with this sandwich was far from there. Because I wasn't able to eat the food ,I asked for fish an chips to go .She brought that to me and we left . I guess I was expecting to be offered to remove the food from the bill or to be given the food I had to buy extra so I could eat to be covered ,nope I got basically a "to bad for you " attitude from our server. We may go back to the casino but won't be eating at the restaurant again . 😕 I have been told about the prime rib ect and was really looking forward to this one ,it was a let down and...
