I had the most rudest employee serve me for picking up. My first time picking up an online order.

I arrived at your store. A bit in a rush as I only had 10 mins before I had to arrive for my acupuncture appointment nearby. I entered and waited off to the side of checkout desk to ask where to pick up. A nice lady told me another lady (across the room) will help me. She called out to her.

This other lady never came up and said hello. Nothing.

I told her I’m here to pick up?

And she tells and gestures me to GO STAND OVER HERE while saying stand here , stand here

I looked at where she pointed. There was nothing special about the spot. No x on the ground or anything. I told her again that I’m here to pick up

She’s like you need to stand here

(…..Why?? I’m standing 6 feet from you. What does it matter where I was standing. I’m in a hurry. I just wanted my item???)

I told her yet again. I’m in a hurry i just wanna pick up.

She goes to tell me I need to scan you

(So what. Your scanner doesn’t work where I’m standing? Which is 40 inches from where you wanted me to stand? Just what was so special about that spot?)

I told her I don’t know what she’s talking about. I didn’t know what she wanted to scam. Up until now I hadn’t opened my email. So I didn’t know there was a barcode on the email for my order

I scrolled. Saw it. And said. What. This?? Here

She scanned it. And I’m like I’m in a hurry

And she talks back to me. Saying “”””yeah I still need to go and get it. Omg geez “”””

While she walks away from me.

The rudeness was ridiculous

I’d let it go. But she comes back. And I told her I need a bag.

And she tells me we have to charge for them they aren’t free

I told her that’s okay I’m fine paying. I still need a bag. I wasn’t even mad any more at her at this point.

But then she talks back to me again and gives me attitude saying “you don’t need to be rude about it”

What part of that was rude? I asked for a bag. You told me I needed to pay. I let you know sure not a problem I’m fine paying for a bag. And then you give me a attitude filled reply.

I’ve never been treated so rudely. Normally I’m greeted at the door. And they are so helpful.

But this lady was just downright rude. I apparently did speak with the manager (she said she was) at the cash checkout desk. But this lady’s rudeness isn’t really acceptable at all. I just came in to pick up a order. And was treated so rudely and for what? Because I didn’t understand why you needed me to stand in a particular spot to be able to have my order barcode scanned???

She could of been a little more chatty and just explain her request and intentions a bit more clearly.

And I wasn’t in anyones way. There was no customers all around me. There was simply no reason why I couldn’t stand where I was to be helped getting...

THE CREEPY, RACIST AND RUDE STAFF OF THE INDIGO CHAPTERS AT METROTOWN DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Please read all

In 2019 you would never expect to find staff who are CREEPY, RACIST AND RUDE that’s the staff for you at the indigo chapters at Metrotown mall. They are extremly rude and very creepy and I’ll tell you why, sometimes after a workout I will go to Metrotown and I will grab a bite to eat and then I will go to chapters and read a book and in most cases I will purchase said book, Sometimes I will have a bag ( my gym bag or food ) and I will notice that I am being followed by multiple staff members in plain clothes or rarely a uniform itself, they will stalk me and follow me around and make my shopping experience unenjoyable and uncomfortable. I am a mixed ( mulato dark skinned curly hair ) male and I notice mostly if not all white staff and the same older middle eastern gentleman will follow me around and they will proceed to watch me and at times they will peer at me making me feel very uncomfortable while I sit there. I can always tell it’s them as they will follow me into a aisle and then pretend to look at a book never leaving or walking away until I myself move to a different aisle, where they will magically appear in the same aisle, where they repeat they’re fake routine. At my last shopping experience I was followed by a white male undercover worker and a older Persian male who actually hid behind the side of one of th book shelf / aisles and he watched me and creeped me out badly. I do believe to some degree I am being targeted due to my aperance and the colour of my skin by the staff at Metrotown as they follow me everytime wether I have my gym bag or not. This hurts my feelings as I have been shopping at this store for 9 years and they treat me with great disrespect and with such unprofessionalism.

PLEASE DO NOT SHOP...

Probably the worst Indigo I have ever been to. It is so roughly maintained and every corner you go, there are piles of disorganized chaos. Yeah, I get that it is also on the customers that are terrible at returning things to where they belong , however the staff members seem to be avoiding customer servicing rather than being readily available.

The lack of communication is also atrocious. Went in to see if I can get an exchange on a book that I received as a gift from a Secret Santa but I was never given a gift receipt.. and since it is a Secret Santa, it defeats the whole purpose of tracking that anonymous person down just so I can try and do an exchange on a book that I actually already had. I went to the cashier to ask, she radioed her manager but funnily enough her manager was just a few steps away and instructed the cashier to tell me some generic response where I could hear her myself. Then they proceeded with giving me a toll-free number to call, which I did.. and was hung up by one representative because he got frustrated with me and kept asking me to repeat how I got my hands on the book. Called a second time and was able to get somewhere and that rep told me that he would have someone reach out to me for both the exchange as well as the terrible service I had received from the first rep. Guess what.. it's been about 2-3 months now? Still haven't heard a peep from Indigo Customer Service or upper management.

If you desperately have to go in to this location for whatever reason, please have ZERO standards and expectations. That way you would never be...

This is the absolute worst disaster of a bookstore I have ever seen in my life. I give it two stars because it at least had a large quantity, but I’ll be darned if you can find any of it !!!! Most of the kiosks at which one could search for a book were off with a QR code taped to the screen. Almost every shelf had books at odd angles, or put in spine-first. Most sections weren’t sorted alphabetically by author OR title, so you sort of just had to dig through the mountain of books piled haphazardly onto the shelf to maybe, possibly find whatever it is you’re looking for. We literally could not locate an employee to ask for help. Just being in this store stressed me out. At least the home section was organized, but who goes to a bookstore to buy a throw pillow ?? Judging by the other reviews, this isn’t just a today issue, and this store needs a serious change. I hope I can return to a better Indigo one day.

This is a great Indigo location with a fantastic book selection. During the holiday season, some sections have been rearranged to make room for other giftable items. Overall, the store was organized and clean, but I was disappointed to see that the in-store Starbucks is gone, and the entire area has been fenced off. Not only does it look unappealing, but it also makes the space feel less inviting. There are very few places to sit and explore books further, which is a drawback. I hope they eventually replace the Starbucks with another coffee provider and add more seating space to enhance the overall experience.

Great selection and variety of items, very friendly staff and vibe. Peaceful and quiet. Another top favorite place to visit, explore and chill. Sometimes I go just for that feeling even if I'm not necessarily purchasing something that day. Only sad part was very little staff Manning the tills so 1 person had to do the line herself, but she was pretty fast, friendly and efficient. That and I miss the Starbucks that used to be in there, it was nice and convenient since theone by the main entrance is gone to, so only the food court one is left I believe. Some sort of cafe would be nice
