Located right below Metropolis at Metrotown mall's Cineplex theatre (by the stairs). Only 2 tables open for dine-in, but feel free to order take-out or delivery.
My order:
-Japanese Style Cheesesteak: my personal favourite - juicy sautéed mushrooms & onions, aged cheddar, wasabi mayo and of course premium ribeye steak slices. It’s saucy, and the cheese blend enhances the flavour. -Koagie (Korean Hoagie): Kimchi was good (not too sour or spicy), so I could comfortably eat it. -New Yorker: the classic if you don't want to venture away from a "normal Philly cheesesteak" - topped with fresh tomatoes and lettuce
Overall, the hoagie roll was soft on the inside, and a good chewy texture on the outside. I reheated mines in the microwave, and it still tasted good several hours later. These cheeseteaks are more saucy than the traditional cheesesteaks, which I personally enjoyed as every bite was filled with flavour. Very filling - best to share if you want to try different flavours. I also really liked their assortment of cheeses (no fake Cheez-Whiz stuff, sorry if you like that though), I think they use aged cheddar, provolone, and some others in a cheese blend. They definitely don't cheap out, and use a generous portion of tender/sliced prime rib steak. All cheesesteaks are made-to-order on a grill when you place your order.
-Onion Rings: skinny-style -Deep Fried Pickles: good thick cut of pickles to breading ratio -ACC Fries (Garlic Butter & Parmesan): classic thick cut fries with a very "potato-y" flavour -White Chocolate Blueberry Milkshake: quite sweet, definitely for people that have a sweet tooth
Also, I definitely have to mention the house-made sauces, they're so good for dipping the onion rings, pickles, and fries (cheesesteaks were saucy enough, so I didn't need it there). My personal favourites were the roasted garlic aioli, smoke Chipotle BBQ (not to overpowering or salty), and mustard (real...
Read moreArtistically beautiful, deliciously irresistible after the first bite. I had The Cowbow, my wife had the New Yorker, my daughter had the chicken strips.
The food came fast and hot, prepared in a way that showed passion and care. The sandwiches were packed full of flavour, and we simply couldn’t stop eating them, even to take a drink.
The male cook let my daughter sample some ice cream, which made her feel welcome and special. He then proceeded to be very patient with us as we explored the menu and asked a bevy of questions. Unfortunately while in the middle of delivering out order he got slammed by a party of many and forgot to make my milkshake. Truthfully it was fine, he apologized and owned up to it. As a token of appreciation he threw in a free ice cream desert for my daughter, which was well received.
As a side note the eatery section though small, is hooked up with a strong Shaw Go WiFi signal, good enough for my daughter to stream HD YouTube with zero interruption. If you’re not a Shaw customer they also have you covered with their own wifi, though I haven’t tested it, they have multiple signs with the password and SSID to help you. As icing on the cake, the table closest to the door (at least) has wall outlets that can cater to standard phone chargers and laptop chargers.
We will definitely be back, sooner than later I predict.
Thank you staff for making our first visit memorable and special! Keep up the...
Read moreThe food is good if you're in a rush and don't care about pricing. If you're looking for customer service though, they don't supply. For a mediocre cheese steak shop, these employees sure do have an attitude. My friend asked for a cheese steak to be cut as she can't eat that much and they "forgot to cut it". Okay, that's fine but when she asked them if they could please cut it, they gave her a box of plastic knives and pretty much told her to do it herself. Not only that, they clearly think they're the place or something since they're charging $4 for a nestea. All I wanted was to try a Philly Cheese Steak and what I got was a mediocre sandwich for $14, a $4 nestea and poor customer service. Never coming back again, wouldn't recommend at all but I know they can care less lolol they don't care about the customer at all. Also, for some reason the whole time we were eating, I kept having some lady who works there dumpster diving or something. I don't even know what she was doing but it really blew my appetite seeing her jump into the trash. Maybe she was pressing the trash down? i dont even know. My cheese steak was bland as well. Tasted like a hot baguette with some unseasoned beef and a little cheese. It felt like there was more onions than actual beef. I hope they can up their customer service and lower...
