The Calgary Farmers Market in Calgary stands out as an excellent destination for top-quality products. My experience there was thoroughly enjoyable, highlighted by the exceptional items I purchased.
Notably, the ciabatta buns from the bakery were exceptional. These buns showcased expert baking skills and high-grade ingredients, making them a perfect choice for bread lovers. Their flavor and texture were particularly impressive, demonstrating the care put into their creation.
The market itself presents a welcoming and lively ambiance. Its spacious and well-organized layout made exploring the various stalls a pleasant and effortless experience.
Customer service at the market was also commendable. The vendors were friendly and helpful, striking a perfect balance between being informative and allowing space for browsing. This approach added a personal and comfortable touch to the shopping experience.

Read moreA solid 3, 3 1/2 star… I remember the old Currie barracks location. Now that was a place. It’s hard not to compare…what I’ve predominantly noticed is that if you visit on a Thursday it’s a hit or miss situation, sometimes the vendors are well stocked and other times no so much. If they are fully stocked Thursday it’s all gone by Friday afternoon, pickings get slim by Saturday afternoon and by Sunday … forgettaboutit. The prices for value is also sometimes questionable 🤨 as most fresh produce with the exception of Gull Valley perishes within 3 days in the fridge. More than 1/2 of the stalls are occupied by fast food and snack vendors, cultural street foods and boutique sweets. There is very little in the way of whole foods. And those vendors seem to have the monopoly in their field. Example: there is only one bakery selling breads. One spice shop. One meat counter…they can command whatever price they see fit there is no competition… it is very much a vendors market - the whole food vendors seem to be supplying to the fast food kiosks etc… so...
Read moreThis farmers market still a gem in our city! Lots of vendors and a good variety of food and cute little stores!
Although it can get pretty crowded -which makes sense as it’s one of the few FMs in yyc- you can still have a good time and enjoy a great variety of foods. There is food for all budgets but expect to pay a bit more.
For parents with toddlers I recommend arriving earlier as it can get busy and you don’t want kids getting lost and you running after them in a crowded place. They do have a cute play structure! But you I’ll need to supervise your little ones as they are older kids who might not place nicely to little ones. Always a good idea to arrive early morning or late afternoon. We got there around 2:30 and it was a bit stressful with the kiddos but by 4pm it got less busy, in the play structure at least. Bring your stroller for sure :)
My fave stands here are the donut 🍩 shop and the coffee shops and the fruit and veggies stands and the olive one. I guess I have a lots of...
