The largest natural city park in Calgary and one of the largest in north America, Nose Hill Park, is spread across an area of more than 11 square kms, and it provides habitat to a few mammals, porcupines, gophers, and ground squirrels. … More

A beautiful natural park in the heart of Calgary. You can go there for walking, hiking, biking or even for a dog walk. Good to go all year around. Nice spot for pictures as well..!!

I have always lived in the vicinity of the park, and can't move away from it. Such a beautiful, wide open space, good for running, biking, walking. It is really quite big, you can do A15 km loop within the park, on trails. Lots of deer, coyotes and even porcupines!

Nose Hill is vast and open. It has few trees compared to most parks in Calgary, but it is INCREDIBLE. I went in the middle of summer and there were numerous Saskatoon bushes with ripe Saskatoon berries (which are native to the area). And … More

Best off leash for Dogs! Great view of the city and paved path too along with tons of unpaved paths. Obviously be careful as the park is shared with other off leash dogs, cyclists and lots of other wildlife (coyotes, deer, porcupines, etc). … More

Beautiful views of downtown and the mountains. There are lots of hills, so it's a great workout. We walked, but a lot of people were biking. Great trails and lots of maps so you don't get lost. It's a huge park! Several areas for parking.

Lovely walk with great views of downtown, and peaceful stretches of prairie. Very few other people out walking on a weekday evening. Somewhat icy in places but mostly packed snow and mud, but no real issues with normal footwear and no spikes. Route taken was the "Nose Hill Lake Loop" on AllTrails.

Nice place with a skyline view to Calgary Downtown. Be sure to put on comfortable shoes and smth that will guard you from wind. Definitely perfect place to walk with your dog, but don’t forget about coyotes living there. Good place to stay one by one with yourself

4 months Prairie Winds Park is a serene retreat within the urban sprawl, perfect for those seeking a peaceful outdoor
Good walking trails throughout the park. The park is large enough so that it doesn't feel congested with people. The downside is that there isn't any washrooms along the...
Read moreThe park is so nice and such a great place for kids and families. 1 star only for the staff on the pool/water area as they are the most careless and inattentive. When we went there, I know it is already late 5:30, and when we are the 3rd family to go inside, they said it is already 7pm and they are close (there are still 5 or 6 families behind us with kids) The sign that says that was hidden by another sign so if you are not going to the gate itself and inspect all signage, you wouldnt know. Someone just literally pull it out behind another signage. When we ask the security about it, the lady just told us to call 311 and they couldnt help us regarding the rules. Okay i get that, then I asked for someone to talk to in person as we want to suggest that hopefully next time, it will be better if they will be organized, only allow 1-2hrs for the families inside and then when it is near closing time, to not allow anyone to get in line or just simply tell the last family or person that they are the last one and tell others not to line. it will only take them a minute or two to get out of the gate and walk and talk. but no one did that. they do not care how long the line will be and just let everyone wait there. and to tell us theres no one to talk to us, help us and hear a suggestion? i asked for a supervisor or manager of the park itself and the security(lady) turned her back at me so I got furious. I told them that's impossible that no one's supervising the park. A minute later, a guy came out and talked to one other family with the most inconsiderate tone of voice answering uh-uh, yeah, no, with the blank stare and you would know that he doesnt care to what we are suggesting...
Read moreI was there June 30th, what can I say. Yes it's a great park, playground and great wading pool. BUT I don't think we can find a place less organized than this one. A line up of 1hr45 (yes I should have left after few minutes but my kiddo insisted to stay), we were all packed outside, no distancing, inside it's 300 people capacity, even with 500 there's tons of space inside, but they let people wait under the heat, kids and babies were there. In the pool and on the grass, under the trees there was a lot of space. Outside, There was no shade to hide while in line, the swim was not timed so you have a super long line up waiting for those who Came before you to go out. It's like covid was just inside the pool, they needed you to keep your distance so you won't get it. You don't risk anything outside though. The staff was not respecting distancing. It's not covid who killed everything, I don't want to say something that would sound offensive but I highly don't recommend this place unless it gets some organization. I will never go again...
