Newest old bridge in the downtown river valley. There was an old Walter Dale bridge that was about 100 years old so the City of Edmonton finally got a new bridge built in much the same spot and kept the same name. It’s a beautiful dynamic bridge that is already iconic. The sweeping lines of the bridge are pleasing to the eyes and its simple design is just right for the river valley. June 20, 2020 returned to the bridge to enjoy the sites. The last time I was here the large open walkway was not open yet on the east side, now that it is open it is awesome. The pedestrian bridge is amazing. This is an amazing bridge that is accessible for all and has many trails leading to it. I recommend coming here and...

I really enjoyed checking out the Walterdale Bridge while I was in Edmonton. It’s such a striking modern design — the big white arches look amazing, especially when they’re lit up at night.

I walked across in the evening and loved the views of the North Saskatchewan River and the downtown skyline. There’s a nice walking path and spots to stop and take photos — it’s a great place for a short stroll or to just pause and enjoy the river.

If you’re exploring the river valley or downtown, it’s worth taking a detour over this bridge. Peaceful, well-kept, and makes for some really nice...
