IN THE EVENT OF AN EMP ATTACK, EAT HERE! Once again I was reminded about how I am actually a Peasent pretending to be Minor Nobility (not High Nobility, those guys are jerks and full of themselves - they don't understand the GRIND that Lower Nobles have to go through, I mean who wants to be on the frontline of a battlefield? I'm too weak to carry all that armor all day, and with my luck I would be Iseakied to a time with platemail, and that has nothing to do with the scrumptious plates we have here). There was an incident while we are here. I'm not pointing fingers, because my grandma said when you point a finger at someone you have 3 pointing back at you, but I think it was Big Pavement. Cuz Olivia said she hates communiting up Gateway, and we all know that Calgary trail deserves the true hate. So there was a power outage! (Not a complete one, my phone still had charge so batteries were unaffected, something about potential chemical reaction power, my chemistry teacher explained it to me once but I got 79 in that class which was a fail in my mom's eyes, which is why she gave him 34% of the inheritance and me only 33%). The power outage however, did not stop these people. Turns out Real-life Wood Stoves don't need to be plugged in! Also Olivia is real Italian, not fake Italian, I'm not sure if that means she is Roman or not. Are real Italians Romans? She says Roman Catholic which I think should count. Anyways the wood stove is Italian as well and definitely not Roman, since it's not made of concrete. That being said it would be too heavy to steal in my opinion, so they should be safe till the power comes back on! Honestly it's impressive they are feeding a full restaurant right now thanks to the wood stove! There is at least 4 people here dining, maybe 45, so like a lot of people. Also they have candles which were on before the power outage, so even though the power went out, it set the mood for a romatice dinner with my bros. We really enjoyed looking into eachothers eyes. Though Chad kept ruining the moment by talking about our latest real estate development. How is a man supposed to get the Rizz going when Olivia keeps bringing delicious food that keeps our mouths busy? Gotta blame the cooks for cooking so fast. And making it delicious. Really it's a united front. They are more unified in working together than Yangzee River Dolphins. And I don't think they are Roman either. Needless to say fellow peasents, this place is awesome, I think it will be even better with the power on. Thankfully they also have windows which let in sunlight. And thankfully the owner has paid his Solar Taxes this year. I assume. But assuming is bad, I'll go ask him.

🍕 Rosso Pizza – Worth Every Slice, Even If You Wait Finding parking here during Friday rush hour is a bit like hunting for the last slice at a family gathering—possible, but you’ve got to move quick. Thankfully, there are a few free spots nearby (just remember to register). Inside, the place was buzzing—two young ladies running the floor, keeping smiles on while handling a steady stream of orders. Honestly, during that lunch peak between 12:30–1:30, it felt like they could have used a third pair of hands. I watched as piping-hot dishes from the kitchen sat for five minutes or more, waiting to be served—not because of carelessness, but because these two were giving their all and couldn’t be in three places at once. Respect to them for holding it together under that kind of pressure. Yes, our wait was over 30 minutes for one pizza, one coffee, and an iced tea. If we’d known, we might have skipped the stop… but then we would have missed out on one of the best pizzas in Edmonton. And here’s the thing—once the first bite hit, the wait was forgotten. The crust? Perfectly oven-baked, with that rustic texture you can only get from real craft. The tomato sauce? Fresh, light, and tangy, letting the other ingredients shine. Vegetables and toppings? Quality you can taste—roasted just right, balanced in flavor, and clearly chosen with care. You could feel the craftsmanship of the kitchen in every bite. So yes, during rush hour, give yourself some time. But if you’re willing to wait, you’re in for something special. To the cooks—keep doing what you’re doing. This is artisan pizza at its best, and Edmonton is lucky to have you. “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

Amazing!! I think about this place often. Love going here for quick takeout, coffee, dessert, or dinner. Definitely my go to spot as it is close to the University and a great price. The salads are always excellent, fresh and have unique ingredients. Also they provide a large portion for a great price. As well the Carpaccio and Bruschetta are always extremely fresh and light. You can really tell the Chefs and Management really love what they do, as they are great at what they present. The staff is super knowledgeable, easy going and enthusiastic. I have always received awesome, welcoming service and quality. The pizza is top notch. It never leaves you feeling heavy or gross afterwards as their dough is incredibly light, fluffy and thin. Everything is always cooked to perfection and they provide a generous amount toppings and flavour profiles. The menu is widely diverse, well thought and crafted. There is a pizza for everyone to love. My only complaint is that the tables are fairly small, me, with a large family it is hard walking in and expecting to find a table to accommodate 5 people. I 100% suggest booking a reservation in advanced! In the future I would love to see Rosso expand by adding an additional floor as they are always busy. Nonetheless, the cozy, quaint atmosphere is a totally different and warm experience. It really makes you feel like you’re transported into an authentic pizza shop in Italy and brings everyone together. My family will be definitely coming back as they were without exception satisfied.

Good food but not the best, price is better than Vaticano in comparison these two similar orders. I found Rosso restaurant was more like a bar setting felt like we were in a crammed bus stop. the neighbouring table while leaving their jackets touch our food and the shook their jackets by our food. There is no good place to set jackets, we sat at north side of bar where it was extremely tight The music was way to load so everyone was shouting while eating, if it’s a pizzeria then I recommend turning music down a few notches we came based on reviews. My wife and I saw a nice cream pasta on their web pictures but they only had a basic spaghetti available, their appetizers were great! I really enjoy the roasted veggies with truffle, although it says side aioli with this dish it’s not necessarily vegetarian, as I don’t eat eggs by my wife does so I scraped the veggies that touched the aioli, she had some type of baked cheese which she liked. The pizza was rather cheap on the amount of topping just because it has truffle oil doesn’t mean leave a few chopped mushrooms I got the vegetarian mushroom pizza. the crust was chewy the center was thin, there sauce was good, overall it was good, but I can eat 3 pizza and still be hungry. My wife had a special which was basically there house spaghetti with a spicy Italian sandwich meat not much creativity. She regretted ordering cause it was too spicy then what the server advised. I think they should have more pasta options was my bad for seeing pictures but not checking menu first. The pizza especially the mushroom truffle one was burnt on the bottom it took away from the truffle essence. I like the way blaze pizza does theirs as a comparison. The gelato display looks enticing but a lot of gelato has egg in it so didn’t try it maybe I will ask one summer day and give it a go. We also got margherita pizza with avocado I think for the price couple more slices of mozzarella and thin slice the avacado rather than 4 or 5 wedges that roll off the thin crust when you pick it up. The other thing that bothered me was they did not were professional uniform they all wear casual clothing from server to kitchen. Not sure if this is standard practice in Edmonton but back in the day people wore restaurant attire that suited their position.

Overall 4/5 for appetizers 3/5 for pizza 2/5 pasta 4/5 service 1/5 for clothing attire/restaurant cleanliness 0/5 pasta selection 5/5 vegetarian selection 5/5 pizza selection 5/5 appetizers selection 1/5 ambiance

27/50= 2.7/5 overall

As a pizza connoisseur I don’t have the type of joy that would bring me back in the near future. But if I was in the area going for a river side walk I may venture there for a pie to go or entice myself in a gelato if it is egg free. I wouldn’t bringing young children there for a birthday or for dinner too noisy and pub feel for young kids in my opinion. Especially seating in the north side of the bar. If they have families coming they should seat them furthest from the bar. Also last note the pizza boxes are way too big and oversized for the small pizzas that go in.

if you haven’t ate many pizzas you may find Rosso as a great new pizza craving.

I have pictures but not sure...

This was a horrible experience. The service was slow and the food was sub-par for the outrageous prices. We waited at least 10 minutes after being seated for our order to be taken. We ordered the pasta special, two lattes and a salad to share. We waited at least 20 minutes for the lattes. A table of two who came about 10 minutes after us recieved their lattes before we did. We then asked the waitress if we were still getting our lattes, the waitress giggled and said yes and that they would be there soon. The waitress then brought one latte and we had to remind her that we had both ordered lattes and waited another 10 minutes for our second latte. We asked at this point if she had forgotten about our lattes to which she replied yes and she had been 'frazzled and overwhelmed.' This confused us as there was only one large group there being served by another server, and 2 other couples; the rest of the tables were empty. The ceaser salad then came and probably could have tasted alright if we weren't trying to sip our lattes at the same time. We then waited another 20-30 minutes for our food to come. We could not help but notice that a couple who came in almost 10 minutes after we did, were able to get soup, salad and a pizza seconds after we finally got our pasta. How did they manage to get 3 items in half the time it took for us to get one?? The pasta was a disappointment to put it lightly. The noodles were undercooked and tasted doughy. The bacon was also undercooked and was so fatty it was gag-worthy. My plate had a ridiculous amount of brussel sprouts and bacon, while my friends plate scarcely had any. I ended up shovelling some from my plate to hers. There were also no pumkins seeds in the pasta as advertised. We did not (or rather, could not) finish our food. Neither of us felt well at this point and just asked for the extras to be boxed up out of habit. The bill came and to our dismay each pasta dish cost $19.00!! So for two specials and two lattes, it came to $63.00!!! We couldn't believe the prices! We left extremely dissatisfied. We were offered no apology and paid full price. We would never go here again or reccomend this place to friends or family. My friend and I are both visible minorities (spanish and black) and we couldnt help but feel this may have contributed to our experience as there were 3 white couples that came in after us who received fast and friendly service. We hope we are wrong. We regret not speaking up to a manager about...
