This place is a gem. Great artifacts and historical notes on the history of our little town. Claringtown is a great new feature with really awesome activities for kids of all ages to learn about life here. Incredibly knowledgeable staff took the time to provide us with added information about some of the exhibits including Camp 30 and the Piano Factory. Have you ever wandered off the 401 just past Oshawa? You should go North a little and discover Clarington, Bowmanville, Newcastle and of yes the Clarington Museum and Archive, specifically Waverly House. When you take the virtual tour and see the bathroom, but it doesn't quite click. Point your mouse through the door and then click. Voila inside the bathroom. You can say no to a free museum. The displays were well done, just a loss of 1 star for a minimalist selection. I would suggest reaching out to some of the older generations that are downsizing as they get too old to donate and share their stories. Other cities do that and have a ton to share.
