They need to figure out longer hours during the week even if its till 5pm-5:30pm. As many that work out of town by time they get out of work, then stuck in traffic on the highway and then want to stop by to get items and goodies they are closed. (Which is unfortunate because your pretty much saying to a good chunk of people that were custumers will no longer be a custumer do to their hours. By time people leave in the morning their not open and when they come back, they are not open. also not open sundays when people are off looking to go downtown/uptown but norhingnis open.) I swear at the old location they were open longer durng the week. Other places are also starting to copy their style of tarts to attract that chunk of custumers they aren't attending to due to those hours of operation. That's also been the problem with businesses as a whole with uptown or downtown bowmanville. Then those same businesses lobby the town hall not to let huge malls and plazas that will attract the same businesses same products but open 9am.to 9pm.

The town is growing and majority work out of town. By time they get home...

I come here pretty often and always get a big box of baked goods, I love sharing this spot with my friends and treating them to the deliciousness the Toasted Walnut has to offer! Always get the date square and at least one butter tart. The icing on the cheesecakes is so delicious!

However there is one associate who is consistently unpleasant. The last time I was in, I brought my mother from out of town and I myself was looking for a treat after giving birth to my son two days prior. When this person was packing my things, I asked for a different piece of a square as the one they were picking up was broken. I was met with an unnecessary amount of attitude that continued through my visit and even was directed to my mom. I can handle the attitude myself but this was a special visit with my mom and after a major life event for me so its a little disheartening. I came to celebrate and enjoy something that makes me happy but this small moment was really...

Stop spending your money on that Tim Hortons wanna be coffee and try this coffee, its the πŸ‘Œ I always get cappuccino . And the scones are to die for , i always get the blueberry ones . Its my new addiction. Really nice place, food is real and tasty. Its also light so further proof you're getting real food. A couple last visits ago , the one server was not too smiley tho, very abrupt I put it off as she was having a bad day. I really liked the first, very young girl that served me, she was all smiles, very positive vibe. Well ive only visited a few times so will not comment further on staff. Do yourself a favor and support this local place and its "truly canadian" for those thinking this is of great importance. Its local thats all I appreciate about it and its tasty and homemade. Ill keep going back for more ....monthly perhaps so I dont grow my own...

I want to give the team at The Toasted Walnut a huge shout out!!! πŸ™Œβœ¨πŸ’— Yesterday I ordered a large assortment of their yummy scones & savory danishes for early this morning and they did not disappoint. They had it all packed and ready to go and they even helped me take it to my car. Needless to say, these goodies were a hit at work and those danishes were first to disappear. If you ever need to order goodies for the office or a party, be sure to contact them! Thank you so much! I hope you have a happy Holiday Season!!

First impression, the servers are really friendly and nice especially the blonde lady since she was the one ordering for us. She answered all our questions in details and being really patient. Lovely decoration and design in the store, feel comfortable and a very chill town cafe :) Mocha tastes more coffee than chocolate and I like it a lot. The squash soup tastes a bit spicy but the flavour blend it out so it balances out. πŸ‘πŸ»

It was our first visit there. Foods great, service great, atmosphere great. The only issue was despite telling we are vegetarian they serve and feed us loaded Potato soup which had bacon. They should educate their staff on ingredients. I don’t think I appreciate that. Server did apologize and I believe her that it was genuine mistake on her part. I hope they improve and educate staff on recipe and ingredients.
