Chilliz Fried Chicken and Mexican Cantina — Restaurant in Dawson Creek

We got into the restaurant around 5pm and there was only one other group there. The smell is amazing and everything looks so yummy.

The menu is currently only on screens behind the till that cycle through a few screens so if you're not sure what there is you might need some time to look. Though they said they are getting takeout menus printed. The cashier was super nice and helpful and answered any questions we had.

The food was done pretty fast. We got the Mexican fries, chimichanga, taco salad and a burrito for takeout. This is not texmex food, it's pretty authentic Mexican food as far as I can tell.

The Mexican fries were delicious, I can see myself getting them every time we go. The fries are so good and the meat veggies and sauces make it so much better. 5🌟

The chimichanga is something I haven't had before but it was so good, the sauce comes separately so it doesn't make it soggy before you get home. It was fantastic, i can see why deadpool likes them so much. The wrap on its own was great and only better with the sauce but the sauce did make it spicy. 5🌟

The taco salad was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. It is in a fresh fried tortilla bowl which is crispy and delicious. Perfect amount of meat and veggies. 5🌟

I can't rate this 5 stars unfortunately. The food is absolutely amazing after I took everything out, but the person at the till taking my order seems to not listen to customers orders very well. When I was at the place inside ordering I had repeatedly stated can you please not put any red onions, After paying $60 I was waiting in my vehicle, the girl at the till brought my food out which was awesome. I didn't bother to check my food before I left because I had thought I had gotten the point across do not put any onions. When I got home oh boy, was this thing ever chaulk full of onions. If you love onions then yes this place is amazing, but for me personally after telling them repeatedly no red onions please I was sadly disappointed and I had to manually remove a mountain of red onions. Went and checked out for the first time. Not sure who's idea it was to put the grass cover over the menu so you can't actually see it unless you walk right up to the counter but it's a terrible menu to look at. The menu also changes back and forth to show an entirely different list of food items which is annoying because you cant even finish reading the original menu before it changes to a different one.
