I ordered a product online yesterday, which will be shipped to my local store for me to go pick up. I’m already being asked to rate Dufresne for a chance to win $500, but my product hasn’t even been shipped. There are still many steps before our business is concluded. This seems like a good time to address an issue concerning online reviews for products.
When people are incentivized to rate a product that they just received, or for a service that is still under way, the reviews can’t be trusted because there’s nothing to be said for longevity. I’m glad your product arrived on time and in good condition, but that doesn’t tell me if it’s a worthwhile purchase. You’re being asked to review THE PRODUCT, not the company that shipped it to you! I want to see a review that says, “I’ve had this product for at least a year, this is how it’s holding up…”
Because of this, people who depend on reviews when shopping online have to spend a lot of time wading through useless garbage. If you read this, I thank you. Now, please only leave a review if you have something worthwhile to say.
Since I want my chance at $500, here’s the review of my experience with Dufresne:
The website was easy to navigate. The search filter options were great and helped me narrow down my search results. Checkout was painless. I have yet to receive shipping confirmation, so the bulk of my experience with Dufresne during this purchase is yet to be...
Read moreI’m editing my first post and deleting the things I said. I was going to say dealing with Dufresne was good, but it’s not. Dealing with the manager is great and he’s doing all he can to help and we are appreciative and the staff at the store can only do what they can......But, we ordered a fridge and in wall oven on November 17, 2017 and the delivery of the oven has been pushed back to December 27 (originally December 21) and the Fridge is now pushed back to January 9-10 (originally December 12). This is extremely unacceptable and I am speaking about the company not the Manager. The company has put him in a terrible spot and this is unacceptable. We have purchased a washer, dryer, dishwasher, stand up deep freeze and now an oven and fridge from this location. Still we can’t get our items delivered on the day that we were told or really even close? Why are you treating your customers so terribly and making your managers bear the brunt of the lack of supplies and appliances. If this were for the store we deal with it would be 4-5 stars as the staff is great and the manager is beyond reproach. But the company is terrible and it reminds me of dealing with the store in Thunder Bay which was a nightmare to be honest. Also, having to ask for free delivery in the town is an issue, the delivery should be free no matter what for all...
Read moreDufresne in Dryden have pretty great staff. They are friendly and pretty helpful. I've utilized warranties and they're always good to follow through, no trying to brush it off as invalid, or not covered.
I knocked off one star because we had purchased a couch set that was one of their big deals, plus extended warranty. Not even a year in to having it and the springs were all breaking...turns out Dufresne was aware of the shoddy workmanship on this set/brand and every set sold had come back with complaints. Ultimately, after over a month of "negotiations", they replaced the shoddy set with a comparable one (they just wanted to give us a credit towards the purchase of a new, more expensive set). However, with that "trade" I was forced to forfeit the remaining 4 years of my extended warranty, or buy a whole new one (something we could not afford at the time).
Overall, I do recommend Dufresne, especially if you can't afford high end furniture. But I do recommend researching the brands and reading reviews on the products before committing...
