I LOVED my day at the UBC gardens. I also went on the tree walk. The people at the info tent and doing the check ins were very kind and gave me a map. I went straight to the tree walk and that was very beautiful and very fun! I would do that every day and never get sick of it. The staff at the tree walk, Ian, was AMAZING! He talked to every person who came to do the walk and gave them info, got to know them, etc. I had travelling a little heavy as I was heading straight to the airport after UBC and he offered to keep my bags for me the entire time I was there so I could enjoy myself. I took them with me but he was so kind to offer. He also gave me recommendations on where I could go sit in the botanical gardens to find a nice quiet place to eat lunch and relax before heading off to the airport. All of the pets were really well taken care of and clearly marked, the map was extremely accurate and very easy easy to navigate. I would...

Have lived in Vancouver for years and have hiked around areas with tall trees/forests. But this is a special vista being 23m (about 75 feet above the forest floor - especially for people like me who are not good at climbing trees and in part because I am afraid of heights. But felt very safe on the well-maintained tree walk. The ropes to hold on to along with the high netting tamps down the fear of heights. Was a great family bonding time and fun facts noted along the walk about the forest area and the trees themselves. Met David, one of the co-owners, who was lovely to talk to. Beautiful sunny day and some fall foliage colour along with the evergreens surrounding the tree walk....

We visited on a Saturday, in the afternoon.

The tree - walk attendant gave us some genuine insight into what the land was and could be; and how those things relate to the current state of the area. We were encouraged to stay up in the canopy to experience the growth and to consider the growth's potential. It was the best advice, and should be passed on. The brief exchange was insightful and educational.

The swaying on the platforms can feel like being at sea. 2 hands are needed for steadying oneself and to facilitate moving around. Take your time and enjoy the surrounding canopy, light and views. Being up off of the ground really affords a different...

The Treewalk is a fun activity and it was longer than I had expected which made it that much more enjoyable. It’s super safe with netting on both sides and it’s a beautiful view to be up in the trees. The botanical gardens were a nice walk, especially through the tunnel to the other side where they have the gardens set up in an beautiful way. The gardens are only open from spring - Fall which makes sense because it would require decent weather to enjoy. The Treewalk and Gardens are decently priced at $23 regular price for an adult and there are several discount options, kids and senior pricing too.

When we have guests come into town in the summer, and we want to show them the sights of Vancouver, this is one of the places we love to take them. It's a fun adventure for all ages, and everyone we've taken raved about the experience. On hot days it's nice and cool inside the gardens. Enjoy a free guided tour or go through on your own. We went twice this summer. Small children must be able to walk themselves or be strapped into an approved child backpack or carrier, you aren’t allowed to carry them in your arms, and everyone needs to wear appropriate shoes - no flipflops.
