I love this spot for a quick nature escape that's still right in the city. It’s an awesome public park built around the lake with a big, supervised beach that's perfect for a hot summer day. They've got playgrounds for the kids, volleyball nets, and great trails if you want to walk, run, or bike the whole loop. Plus, you can rent a kayak or SUP to get right out on the water, which is a big win. The downside is that the water quality, while usually good and regularly tested, sometimes gets a temporary closure due to high E. coli counts, which can be a bummer if you planned to swim. Also, the beach area can get completely packed on a sunny weekend, and parking isn't always cheap, which is annoying for a public park. But for a family BBQ, a quick paddle, or a scenic walk, it’s a...

Love this lake and park. Open in the summer for swimming and it's free. Parking is $2.50 for every half hour. Clean bathrooms for changing and there is a place you can hire a SUP. Lifeguards on duty in the summer. Nice walkway all around the lake and some additional trails and paths for running. Cafe area at the centre plein air and you can also rent kayaks and canoes. Open water swim course and markers for non motorized crafts . Picnic benches and barbecue areas available all at no cost. Always nice and clean. Definitely...

Very nice urban beach and activity area in Gatineau; a short drive or in our case a nice bike ride from downtown Ottawa. In addition to the nice sandy beach there are areas to enjoy the lake on a path all around it. You can relax, picnic, kayak, paddleboard, or walk or bike on several trails that will take you in multiple directions: near the casino, further into Gatineau, around the Ottawa river, and back towards the Chaudière Falls and across the Portage bridge into the Parliament Hill section of...

Lac Leamy is always a great place to visit. Not far from Ottawa, I can bring my paddleboard here almost all year round to watch the sunrise. At Lac Leamy there is a beach, picnic tables, a park, walking/biking trails, and restaurants, it's also incredibly family-friendly with fun to be found for all ages. Tons of parking available for free, so you won't go wrong if you choose to spend some time here! :)

We always love I’m going to this place and relaxing either on the paddleboard or just around the lake walking around. The people around here are extremely friendly. We will most definitely keep coming back here every summer and enjoying the weather. I’ll obviously recommend this place to anyone willing to have a good time.
