I love this spot for a quick nature escape that's still right in the city. It’s an awesome public park built around the lake with a big, supervised beach that's perfect for a hot summer day. They've got playgrounds for the kids, volleyball nets, and great trails if you want to walk, run, or bike the whole loop. Plus, you can rent a kayak or SUP to get right out on the water, which is a big win. The downside is that the water quality, while usually good and regularly tested, sometimes gets a temporary closure due to high E. coli counts, which can be a bummer if you planned to swim.
